Ridiculous Deal of the Moment: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

I'm not normally the kind to clip coupons and stay up on deals, but even a dolt like me can respond when something like this is staring me in the face.

Amazon is selling Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the criminally low price of $25.99, which is down from the regular price of $39.99... which is already a stupid good deal. I seriously don't understand why Microsoft wouldn't charge full price for Nuts & Bolts, but perhaps I should just shut up about that before I give them any stupid ideas. If they want to make games cheaper, who am I to complain?

There's probably a very dark side to all this, of course. Nuts & Bolts is still a pretty new release, and it's strange that it would get cut so soon. I have to imagine that means it's not moving very many copies. Around here, we sort of can't stop talking about it. But since it isn't all dark and brooding like all the big sellers are, I guess I'm not completely surprised that it isn't catching on as well as it should.

You've probably already heard us endorse the game to death on the podcast, so I'll refrain from getting all touchy-feely on you and instead say YO YOU SHOULD BUY THAT.

They've done that just about every 3 days since release, have it at 25.99.

Twycross, Outskirts of Nowhere – Attention builders, racers, pilots and boat captains! One month after its worldwide release, “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” has flown, driven and sailed off store shelves and the response from the fan community has been overwhelming. Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Yes! One of my favorite games last year is getting DLC.

            Here Comes a New Challenge

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts – it's not over yet. We can't offer any specifics, but it wouldn't do to let your N&B disc gather dust. To whet your appetite for what's coming, a few words from L.O.G. himself...

"Am I addressing the fine minority of gamesplayers with taste, those who are still neck-deep in the customisable wonders of my latest title to feature that drooling bear and the shrieking hag I wish I'd never invented? And Gruntilda too, of course. Ah, the humorous bait-and-switch.

"As I put so much effort into hammering and sticky-taping together all those new worlds for Nuts & Bolts, I thought I'd reward the loyalty of its cadre of ardent players with a brief hint. So prick up your ears, soldiers: consider this an early warning that news on potential lifespan-lengthening activities will be incoming very soon. The game's lifespan, I mean, not your own. I may be a deity, but that's just unrealistic.

"If all goes well, you'll soon be able to experience a little something that I devised during a spare moment in exile from the Palace lounge as the Lady of Games watched some kind of dreadful house renovation show marathon. I have to say I'm quite pleased with the end result, apart from the section that Klungo insisted on contributing due to what he claimed was 'popular demand'. Well, that remains to be seen. I've even topped it off with a promotional logo to keep you interested, as I'm told it's all about the logos and PR and vertical marketing these days.

"That's all for now. Until the next time I randomly and irresponsibly decide to break the fourth wall, enjoy."

So there you go. Expect more info to be out there as soon as next week, but in the meantime rest assured that the Lord of Games is keeping the Nuts & Bolts dream alive.

              Re: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

DLC coming April 7th. I was hoping for the challenges to take place in a new game world created by L.O.G. and some new vehicle parts, but I will take this and it's only 400 points.

Exciting New Discoveries Abound in the World of “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” with L.O.G.’s Lost Challenges Game Add-On

London, 31st March - Polish up that toolkit and prepare to dive back into the vivid world of “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts,” where invigorating new challenges await with the Lord of Games’ (L.O.G) Lost Challenges Game Add-On pack! Worried that Banjo and Kazooie may be falling back into their lazy ways, L.O.G has created a fresh series of tests and seven additional multiplayer modes for players to continue building their own distinctive vehicle creations. Although Spiral Mountain has been rightfully won, L.O.G. has an enticing reward for completing his new challenges: another version of Klungo’s Arcade game.

Additionally, L.O.G.’s Lost Challenges will include the blueprints from seven lucky Xbox fans from the United States, Canada and Japan whose winning creations were selected by RARE from the recent “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” fan vehicle design contest. The winning contraptions can be unlocked by Banjo fans upon completion of the Stop ‘N’ Swop feature within “Banjo-Tooie” on Xbox LIVE Arcade later this spring. These incredible machines ranging from a beetle to a carousel and a robot prove that “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” is a game where the only limits to your adventure is your imagination.

L.O.G.’s Lost Challenges offers players the ability to earn up to 250 achievement points as they immerse themselves into 12 new challenges and 7 new multiplayer games. Releasing on April 7th, it will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 400 Microsoft points.
