    Deleting Files Xbox 360

I asked this in the College Hoops forum, but it could really apply to any game.

I want to delete everything associated with a game and just start fresh as if I had just bought the game today.

My question is, I use a user profile for multiple games. So if I delete the user file, I assume that it will delete every achievement with that user file accross all games and I don't think I want to do that.

Any suggestions on what I should do here?

I think achievements are totally linked to your Xbox Live Gamertag, so once you have an achievement it's there forever. You can delete profiles, do whatever and not change achievements.

Thanks, Is there 1 user profile that is used accross all games? I swear if I put in a new game, it just grabs a user profile which is the same as my Xbox live tag. This is why I am hesitant to delete anything.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you could just delete that game profile...I haven't deleted much, so maybe someone else can confirm

You should be able to go to the "System" blade and then go to "Memory" and delete only the info on a certain game without worrying about you deleting profiles or losing achievments. You can't lose an achievement once you get it anyway.

Some games save files straight to your GT profile so it can never be deleted like Gears. Like if you collect the COG tags and then later choose to restart from 0, you can't.

Really? Interesting. I am guessing all those are associated with possible achievements.

Yep, if you look at how big your GT is it grows over time. Mine now is at around 14mb. Several games save campaign progress straight to your GT. Which is good because I deleted a game save by accident but was able to start where I left of because of this.
