I guess used book stores are killing off the publishing industry, too, and
used car lots are destroying auto makers as well.
    That article was a pants-load.

Gamestop would definetely go out of business without the ability to sell used games. They make $25 off the newer used games, and even games like madden 07 they give you $1 and sell it for $8

Wow, I never thought of that. Great idea

Gamestop is the Wal-Mart of the game retail world. Instead of ad. compare, they use used games to make a profit. Gamers come in, trade in their games, and another gamer comes in and buys the previous game. I am guilty of this, but I rarely buy new games because you lose 30 bucks as soon as it is bought. The real problem is stopping gamers from feeding the "monster" so to speak. Most gamers are tight on money, so if the deal is there to save 10 bucks, can you really blame them for "exploiting" the system?

The video game business is bigger than ever and the sales of used games is bigger than ever.I doubt the two aren't related somehow.
