Path of Exile would be fantastic, if they didn't make some bad decisions while designing the game due to their budget.

The desync issue is horrid and makes some of the best things unplayable (Hardcore events, hardcore in general, some of the race events.) Outside of that, it's a great game. I still gave them some of my money because if they can find a way to fix that (instead of just banning anyone on the forums that talks about it) it would be one of, if not the, best in the genre.

so if you buy ultimate edition- will future expansions be available as DLC? Or is every expansion going to be an entirely new release?

UEE includes the only current expansion, and the current gen consoles will also get the same patch support PC enjoys.

Expansions... tbd. Certainly opens the door to be able to pay them via patch/dlc I'd think.

I miss the skill trees from the other Diablo games. Just not a fan of the use any power at any time approach to the game with the heavy emphasis on gear for power / enhancements. Blizz ruined the experience for me after I built a Wizard that used the shield + blade attack (sorry, don't remember exact names now) where it was nigh invincible. After trading / buy gear... getting it working, they nerf it so it wasn't viable (at least for me with my build). They did that over and over again. Find a good spot to farm, they remove it. Just didn't get their whole approach the first month or two out with the game.

First I've heard on the trading. Are you saying with can't trade with other people on the Playstation 4 platform? I knew we couldn't play with PC gamers, but figured we could trade with other PS4 gamers...

Trading has been disabled for a long time. The only trading you are allowed to do is if you are in a group and something drops. If you are playing through the game and get something amazing, you cant give it away or sell it anymore, you can only use it for an alt.

This has really cut down the desire for many people to continue to grind out gear or set pieces. People have gone so far as to create other accounts and 2-4 box same class toons to increase loot probability.

Wow. No trading? That was a big part of Diablo 2 and the only way you could complete sets. To be honest I don't know that I ever ran across set items in my first play through. I'm guessing there are sets in Diablo III now, right? If there are, then it's got to be crazy hard to complete a set without the ability to trade with other players.

The thing is, when Blizz took down the AH they really changed up the loot such that many more legendaries and set items drop now. It's called Loot 2.0 if you want to read about it. It is really way different now than it was when you first played, both on PC and Console.

I went through a playthrough on normal post Loot 2.0 and was equipped with legendaries for all but 2 pieces of armor by the time I beat Diablo.

Haven't played a Diablo game since the late 90's

I'm seriously thinking about snagging this on The One but the only thing that's holding me back is I don't want to start a backlog of games again and couple that with The Golf Club, Madden 15 and I haven't gotten halfway through Watch Dogs yet.

Same for me, I've already ordered Diablo digital on the PS4 actually. it'll be nice to actually have friends to play with as no one i game with really plays PC games...

Can't see myself switching to a console version yet. The fact that the interest for most casual players only last for the first 3 months after every patch it'll be hard to keep a core people to play along with. Also for me the fact that Seasons(aka ladders) wont be on console will not help keep my interest on the console end.

Sucks that it's not cross platform also. First developer that does that will take all gamers that enjoy that genre.

Game looks awesome on a nice HDTV though. My 20" lcd monitor will have to do for now
