Learned a hard lesson with the PS4 this last week. We had a lightning storm and it knocked power out for a second and then surged back on. Afterwards my PS4 would not power on. I tried every trick but finally (and regrettably) had to reinitialize it, which thankfully at least allowed it to power back on properly.

I thought, well at least I have all my games saved to the PSN cloud right? Nope... all games were saved except for Diablo 3.

So several 70 level characters and about 100 Paragon levels gone. Just gone. No way to recover them either.

Finally after a bit, I realized that the problem was the online storage account was full for PSN. Not sure how/when/if it notified me the storage was full (there's no message in my notification history), but what a heck of a way to learn D3 wasn't saving/syncing properly.

So, if you want to be ultra safe PS4 users, be sure to check your Diablo 3 save file and make sure it's uploading to the online storage... at least once.

Have you unlocked the jeweler artisan yet? He's part of the main quest at a point near the middle of act 2. Once you do you'll be able to train him to combine those fragments of gems into higher quality (and more effective) ones.

If you haven't reached that point yet (that's very possible) feel free to throw what you have into the sockets if you want, but they're stuck there until you gain the ability to remove them, which is also done by the jeweler. Just be aware there is a small gold cost to remove them.

Still on act 1 so haven't unlocked the jeweller yet. I was in my inventory and when I selected a gem, it brought up all my socket-able gear and I wasn't sure if it was wise to use them on the gear I'll probably replace in a few levels or keep them for better gear.

As I said, haven't played a Diablo game before so if anyone could answer these couple of questions I have, greatly appreciated.

1. I have these pox faulds that I found. They're legendary but release this poison when 3 or more enemies are around. They're a bit below what gear my tailor could make but that poison is so handy. Do I keep them even though there are higher level items around with better stats?

EDIT: I'm at level 30 now and have gear with all green arrows over what I'm using now (low level pox faulds) but that 360% damage each second for 10 seconds is useful. Better gear is around 30-35 in strength and vitality.

2. I never know what to salvage or keep. At the moment, I'm just keeping any and all legendaries and salvaging all rare and below items. Not selling anything since I don't seem to use money at the moment. Does that sound right?

3. I found a green item plan. Can't remember the name at the moment but not all green sets are for my character I assume? If memory serves, the benefit to multiple items wasn't great for a barbarian so this is a set I can ignore right? Or are sets that good that you just build them regardless?

Also, if you salvage an item that is socketed, you get the gems back.... For free!
... But if you want to compare 2 items without the influence of gems or if you want your gems back but keep the item, then the jewelwer is there for you.

Yes that is what I do. I guess the ''remove gems'' options from the jeweler is more if you want to keep the item your gems are on or if you just need to remove them to combine in something better and put them back... if you pay the jeweler every time I guess it can become expensive

Also, should I be buying plans? Like in act 2, one vendor has a legendary hellfire ring plan for 100k and some rare ones for 50k. Should I buy those as I have enough coin?

Meh, details.

I guess I didn't worry much about it because I didn't get any socket equipment until after finding Shen. And after that it's not a problem because you get so much gold now that the cost of removing gems is a non-factor.

Am flying through this. Probably put in 7-8 hours over a few days and I'm now level 42. My first Diablo and playing on expert (the last unlocked one) but it's kind of too easy. Just running through champions and uniques. The Butcher and Mahgda were real easy but I can't up the level until I beat it apparently. Only mid way through act 2 just running through the storyline and not re-doing anything.

Question on my gear though from before. I'm still wearing a low level pox faulds legendary. It's only like 29 strength and 22 vitality when I have rares that are 100+ but the ability of dealing 320% weapon damage every second for 10 seconds to all enemies when surrounded by 3 or more is so good.

Do people keep lower level items when they have good abilities tied to them or is it time for me to move on from them? Since these pox faulds are percentage based, they're scaling with my weapon upgrades making them better as I go along. Am a barbarian.

Not true, if you salvage them it gets your gems back to you.

I'd double check, thought I'd read that's not the case on the console version.

Own all Diablo games (Including 2 unopened D2 battle chests - Don't ask) and D3 on PC but never got the DLC.

Thinking of grabbing it for PS4.

What difficulty is everyone playing on? Normal on PC was too easy and was wondering the consensus for console.

If you've played Diablo before, you'll probably be rather bored if you're not on Expert by the end of Act 1. And that's as high as you can go until you've beaten act IV.

Since you've played it on PC, take note that difficulty level isn't how it used to be pre 2.0 - you can switch at any time (though only by one level up or down while you're actually in-game - you can freely select when you're in the out-of-game menus.
