I haven't put much time into Diablo 3 recently between SimCity and Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm. However, from some limited play time recently as well as keeping up on the patches, it looks like Blizzard is making good improvements to the game. Recent patches have really fixed a lot of the issues related to the abilities and characters, including some much-needed buffs to the Monk.

The devs are also discussing making big changes to items and item stats. I'm sure this will do little to change the minds of some people in this thread, but to those of us who play the game these are very welcome changes.

bleh, small changes overall and only for multiplayer play, which I did very little of in Diablo 3 personally. What they don't get is they destroyed the need to play more often by disabling the ability to create custom classes (Icemage vs Firemage, etc). The ability to change all skills at any time (thank you Jay FU Wilson) greatly decreased the replayability of the game.

Any word on what happened to PVP? Wasn't it supposed to be available in October of last year?

brawling was introduced in patch 1.07, but only to players on the test realm. It is expected to be released soon for all players, but I don't believe there is a definitive date.

Diablo 3 seems like a nightmare for Blizzard, their quality of games is vastly going downhill(never played Starcraft tho so idk about that)

Played a little bit of Starcraft, it feels like it's 10 years old but with a new coat of paint on it. Feeks built for competitive gaming basically. After playing Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander the last few years the view of the battlefield in Starcraft is claustrophobic, my biggest complaint about the game by far.

Im not going to lie, I have been playing Diablo 3 a lot lately because some of my friends playing and I must say that while disappointing its not complete garbage with some of the recent drops. Just some I have been noticing since I started playing again are:

1. Loot drops are better now. I dont get like 16 whites and 1 blue anymore and repair costs arnt that high anymore. With addition to the Monster Power element and Paragon system you can essently multiply your chances of finding very nice items now. With this latest patch it tones drops down a tad however the randomness of the stats are broaden meaning some of the high level gear drops will be less likely to drop with poop stats but will also be harder to find which I absolutely love btw.

2. Seems like there was a buff to some of the other skills on each character meaning there were a lot more builds than I seen before. Even my Witch Doctor was better overall with some skills that were worthless before.

I mean yes its still not as good as D2 but it is really getting better. Remember D2 was kind of bland before the Expansion pack anyway as well.

The issue isn't solely with the drops. It was always about the itemization of those drops which still is horrendous and will be staying that way.

Also there is no replay value with every character unlocking every one of their skills.

That's just scratching the surface of what is wrong with this game.

Been enjoying Marvel Heroes far more than I ever enjoyed Diablo 3. David Brevik's done a far better job on Marvel Heroes than Jay Wilson did on D3 with far fewer resources and development time. RTS guy for an RPG was just the wrong hire on Blizz's part.

Decided to pick this back up only to discover that my account was hacked.

Blizzard was really good about getting my account info back in my control, but they couldn't reset it, so now my demon hunter has 250+ hours on her.

Kinda screwed up my achievements, but other than that, not a huge deal. Ended up just deleting the DH and starting a new character. Blizz even let me keep the 350K gold that the hacker racked up on the account.

Meh. Don't really care much about the gear. Feels a bit like cheating, even though it wasn't my fault. More fun for me to play the game through myself without someone else's stuff.
