Have they basically said that the loot system will be similar to the console versions?
I feel for the guys on PC only, as I played it for a couple months on PC when it first released. I quickly realized that I needed to either invest months and months worth of gameplay just to have a respectable character, or I needed to invest my own money to properly improve. That was absolutely not going to happen, so I shelved it and never returned.
I picked up the PS3 version when it came out after hearing good things, and the difference really is night and day. I've now got a pretty good Barbarian firmly entrenched on Master 1, and a beast of a Demon Hunter who is comfortably on Master 2, with the occasional jump to Master 3.
I have to say, after missing out on every loot based game in the past, I understand where the addiction comes from. I've been doing runs collecting keys for the infernal machine with my DH for a month or so, and along the way, i've slowly been upgrading his gear by either collecting mass amounts of gold and crafting stuff, or just by picking up legendaries.
