hmm Maybe i'll rent it. If I turn into a LOST fan through this i'll cry. I don't need to be obsessed over a TV show!

Re: Lost: Via Domus
Thanks for the impressions. I really want to pick it up, but I just went out and bought SD vs RAW knowing The Show is coming up. I think I'll wait til this one drops, then I'll pick it up and enjoy it.Pretty cool game, it's like playing the TV show.
Same music, same feeling. Flashbacks, the whole 9 yards. One thing cool, when you finish the first episode and start the 2nd, it does a "Previously on Lost" and shows a recap from the last episode.
Game isn't difficult, but it looks gorgeous. Also, the voices aren't the real actors, some sound good (Jack, Kate, Sayid, Michael) and some sound bad to me, (Locke, Sawyer, Hurley).
If you're a Lost fan, I think it's a must own.Comment

Re: Lost: Via Domus
Yeah, I was hooked immediately too after watching the pilot. I was late to the party though, I never saw it when it premiered, but I caught up just before Season 4 started thanks to Netflix.
That video a few posts up of the game looks pretty cool.Comment

Re: Lost: Via Domus
When I bought the DVD of season 1, season 2 was about halfway over. So I was a little late to the party, too.
Anyway, here's my quick take on the game:
Finally got a chance to play it last night. Made it to the Hatch (chapter 5). I know people are kind of down on the game, but to be honest, I'm really digging it.
The not so good...
My main complaint (just like everyone else) is the length. It's very short. I really wish it was 13 or 14 chapters instead of only 7.
The controls are a little clumsy, but nothing major.
Hurley's voice is really, really off. Kate does not sound like Kate, unfortunately.
The cave parts and circuit puzzles can be a pain.
Exploration is very limited.
The good...
Ubisoft really capture the LOST "feel". Music and sound are fantastic.
While some voices are a little off, they were still able to get the characters vibe right.
The flashbacks are fairly easy, but cool and interesting.
WAAAALT!!
The story so far is really good, and feels like an actual episode.
Kate is your ally.
Being able to explore The Hatch is frekking awesome!! Just how I imangined it would be.
I'll post some more impressions once I finish the game.
LOST fans will get a kick out of the story and will enjoy the game. Worthy of at least a rental.
People not into the show won't be able to appreciate the references and storyline. Alot of things will go over their heads. I can't really recommend the game unless you watch and follow the show.Comment

Re: Lost: Via Domus
Awesome, I was hoping that you would be able to explore the hatch! Man, makes me want to play it just for that! Can you watch the orientation films? Push the button? lol.
Thanks for the impressions CRKnight!Comment

Re: Lost: Via Domus
No Dharma orientation films, but you do get to type in the numbers! You also get to see the "Lockdown" mode.
Playing the Hatch chapter made me quite giddy

Re: Lost: Via Domus
I think this is one my wife and I could play together since we love watching Lost. She's busy with getting a national teaching certification and I'm buying 2k8 next week, so maybe we'll wait a few months to check this one out.Comment
