Why are Gamecube sports games so inexpensive?

I went to Best Buy yesterday and they had Tiger Woods 2003 for $29.99 and Nascar Thunder 2003 for $19.99. Then, I went to EB Games and they had NBA 2K3 for $14.99. I have an Xbox and those games would all cost me $49.99. For those who know, is the game quality that much worse on the Gamecube? I'm thinking about buying these games on the Gamecube now and then buying the system when the price drops in a few months.

no one ever buys them - simple supply and demand.

Well they don't sell. That's why. Not to mention Sega Sports games are cheap now since they've been discontinued and SS won't make anymore for Cube. EA is cutting back sports titles on Cube next year as well.

Hmm guess EA isn't cutting back, they announced they plan to support Cube with 20 titles that will feature GBA connectivity, nothing big, but shows they still will support.

Is that NBA2k3 thats 14.99 the corrected version? Cuz I heard from the boards here that someone bought a corrected version of 2k3 for 14.99.

How would someone know it is the corrected version? Does it say anywhere on the game box? Just curious, as I would hate to pick one up and then have it start freezing on me 5-10 games down the line.

Since Sega is discontinuing their line on the GC, I picked up NFL2K3 and NBA2K3 just the other day. Not bad for 30 bucks!
I already have both versions on the X-Box. I guess my rational is when I go out of town, I won't have to lug my X-Box around just to play some sports games.
