If you had the ability to create one game...

What would it be? Simple question. Try to keep answers non sports related, because i'm assuming half of you would say a GOOD NFL game for the next gen consoles.

For me, it would have to be an old west version of GTA. I know that Gun was along these lines, but there wasn't enough to do to keep my interest like the GTA series. I'm talking a full on western, with posses to either join or fight, crooked sheriff's, etc. I could go on and on, but after watching TGTBATU the other day, I just couldn't help but think that a vast western videogame would be amazing. Also, there would have to be a LOT of land to cover in the game, not just a couple cities. I want vast, arid landscapes to prospect in, and gold out the wazoo.

Ok, i'll stop. It's just that the thought of such a game has me excited, despite knowing it will probably never happen.

    Anyways, what about you guys?

I agree a solid GTA western style would fit my bill. I wonder if any video game company has ever tried buying the liscence to the Clint Eastwood "man with no name" spaghetti westerns?

As for me, I want a real good political simulation. Something that would combine RTS games and some sandbox elements that would offer different scenarios to go through. I don't know if the technology is there yet for something like that but it'd be cool if you could run for president in 1900 and continue on throughout the whole century. It'd make for some interesting "what if" scenarios.

My own NCAA Football game with everything that I ever wanted in a college football game. That would make me a happy camper.

Edit: Sorry that I didn't read the opening in your post. Hmmmm. I gotta think about that now.

I would probably go for a GTA in a foreign city. London (an updated version, I know way back there was one or so in London), Rome, Paris, Athens, a European city.

One game that I absolutely loved that I would like to see updated would be Pharaoh. I know there was Children of the Nile, but that kind of fell a little short to me.

I would vote for an RPG type of game based on the ancient mediterranean. I know God of War was supposed to kind of be like that, but I had xbox and that game seems kind of dark, I am talking like an Oblivion style game based on the ancient mediterranean.

          Ok, so three games.

A number of ideas, dunno which one I'd go with though. They mostly expand upon existing games:

-a better version of the PC car combat game "Streets of SimCity". Basically, it was a horribly generic car combat game, but the one cool feature it had was that you could load your cities from SimCity 2000 and fight in those. Throw in better driving and fighting mechanics, better graphics, add car customization, a better single-player campaign, and online play, and it'd be a whole lot better than it was.

-a better version of a board game I made for a project in high school, which was a turn-based combat game set in present-day Iraq, in which six nations vied for control of the country. Though I prefer turn-based games, it'd probably work better as a RTS.

-massively multiplayer online Grand Theft Auto. Either form gangs and run the town, play as cops and take back the town, or play as an independent figure who carries out justice as he sees fit. The cities would dynamically change both in appearance and actual gameplay based on whether the cops or outlaws were in control (e.g. bad guys winning = more run down city, restless pedestrians, more random AI petty crimes, pedestrians may attempt to attack your character if you attack them rather than call cops). [I think GTA4 may have beat me to this, but I haven't been following that game at all somehow].

              -Duke Nukem Forever.

Something along the lines of a great mobster game.

Like a combination of Mafia and GTA

not just all action...being able to do the little things that happens with the mob (drug deals, bootleggin, money laundering, etc.)

                    That would be awesome.

I also agree with the first post of the western idea..that would be amazing.

Re: If you had the ability to create one game...

I would personally enjoy more "period" action/adventure games ala GUN and Assassin's Creed.

I think a free-roaming, RPG going along the lines of King Arthur/Excalibur/Holy Grail would be tight or something along the lines of the Crusades (I love killing me some Templars in AC). I would enjoy a Robin Hood game as well.

A free-roaming, GTA-styled Batman game similar to the way Spiderman2 was set-up, but in a much better, less repetitive way. I really thought Batman Begins premise was fantastic and it would have been a great game had the restraints been loosened, so that the game was a lot less linear than it was. The Batman mechanics would be stealth/detective based, while of course maintaining a proper level of safety throughout Gotham City. I think Bruce Wayne should be accessible at the gamer's leisure, but not really sure what capacity BW would have on the gameplay. Also, have a mode where you can be The Joker, Two-Face, Catwoman, etc where your goal is to cause as much chaos as possible while avoiding the Batman.

As for the King Arthur free-roaming, RPG, I think it should follow the lines of the movie Excalibur - starting with Arthur as a child/squire and then progressing from there. As the game progresses to adult KA, the quests for the Holy Grail become available, along with the ability to "recruit" knights for the round table such as Lancelot and Galand by either defeating them in combat (Lancelot) or by helping them when they were in need. Managing the satisfaction of Camelot should have some type of effect on KA's health/well-being and there would be an empahasis on the relationship mechanics of KA and Merlin.

The Robin Hood game could be a similar set-up, but replaced by Robin Hood elements.

Wasn't The Godfather kind of like that? I know it wasn't a "great" game, but I really enjoyed it on the Wii.

The stealth element reminds me a bit of the Batman Begins video game. I also think a GTA-ized Batman game would be interesting especially the mode where you're the villians.
