Rainbow6 2 or COD4

Sorry if there have been threads made about this. I didnt want to sift through both R6 and COD threads to find out.

Here's my question.

I have COD4 and already hit prestige mode 4 times and even though the new maps are coming out its starting to get boring to me. I need something different I think. I still love the game but, my friends and I are needing a new challenge.

Is Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 worth getting? Or should I keep playing COD4? Any input good or bad will be great. Thanks guys.

RB6V2 is definitely worth getting!!!! It offers a different gaming experience than COD4 as it is a more tactical type game. The single player campaign is awesome, as is online play. The graphics in COD4 is better but RB6V2 is by no means dissapointing in that apartment.

You will get many different opinions on here so I'd suggest renting it first and see if you like it before buying. There are a number of us who plays this game online often so you are welcome to join us.

I will sell you my copy of RB6. I have played it maybe 5 times. I couldn't get into it which is weird since I loved the last one. Everyone seems to really enjoy it except me and I don't know why.

The two games are totally, totally different, so they don't overlap each other. I'm not going to lie, I love Rainbow Six, so my personal opinion is extremely biased. I give you an enthusiastic GO GET IT.

BUT

From a more objective point of view, I tell you this: Almost EVERYONE on my friends list is playing Vegas 2, and several of my friends have hit me up with messages filled with ecstatic glee. That's how I gauge most games...the general "happy factor" and Vegas 2 has a very high happy factor except for DookieMowf, who is literally the only person I've heard complain about the game.

The reason I ask is because everyone on my friends list are married and or with kids and they dont have the $60 to spend on something there not sure they want to play. So they ask me to get the game and let them know what to do.

Honestly I don't know...they're two different types of shooters. RB6 is slower and a bit more tactical/methodical. You never know how some guys will react (good or bad) to that. I enjoy both COD4 and RB6, but they're just different games...

I guess if you think you're done with COD4 for good, then it might be worth trading in. They're such different games, as others have said, so it's not like Vegas will replace COD. I find Vegas more enjoyable overall though, because it's more tactical, and has co-op story (2 player) and 4 player co-op terrorist hunt. You can't beat 4 player co-op.

Its funny how you say R6 is slower b/c although it is relative to COD4, my friends and I always play Rainbow and Ghosts of Recon and Rainbow is the fast paced one in those scenarios. Never thought of RB6 as slow.
By the way Rainbow Rocks and I defineatly prefer it to COD4.

I guess I just say "slower" because it's not in the Halo realm where you're running in circles, jump strafe shooting, sniping while doing 180's after jumping off mountains, etc...

No. I'd suggest that you and your friends pick up Vegas 1, which now under $20 used at amazon. It's just about the same game as Vegas 2, plus there are a bunch of free map packs on the marketplace. Plus you get Retrieval, the most popular game mode, which is missing from 2.

That is the real answer right here. It's like asking if you should trade in Fight Night for Burnout Paradise. Just apples and oranges. I was actually a little shocked that COD4 was modern, yet so very different from Rainbow Six. COD is a WAR game, and has many less options for single player mode. Rainbow Six is a special ops game, with single player campaign, coop campaign and terrorist hunt that really differentiate it from COD. Rainbow Six is brilliant, but it has very little in common with Call of Duty aside from them both using modern weapons.

Yes, but it's dwindling fast. Right now, you can still get a coop game pretty quick, but Vegas 2 is selling like hotcakes, so all of those people are converting rapidly. Though it's worth mentioning that Vegas 1 holds up very very well for a game as old as it is.
