GTA IV: Highest Wanted Level

Whats the highest level you've been able to get thus far? I've only been able to reach 4 stars thus far. I'm only 9 percent into the game though so i'm sure that has something to do with it. Intelx

The better question would be whats the highest wanted level you've been able to escape. 3 stars is not too hard to escape. 4 stars is where it gets difficult haven't gotten there yet.

The highest amount of stars you can get is six stars.

I've had a six-star wanted level a couple of times now. Can't remember if I got away either time. Pretty sure I ended up dead both times, actually.

I got 5 stars when I was trying for the chain reaction achievement. You have to blow up 10 cars in 10 seconds. The way I did it was steal a bunch of parked cars and move them to where they'd all blow up together with one grenade. Well someone called the cops, since I heard them do it. The cops showed up and I wound up blowing up 8 cars and 2 police vehicles. Got the achievement, but wound up on like a 15 minutes getaway attempt that ended in failure. I got ran over by one of the bigger police vehicles.

It's a hell of a lot harder to survive on the higher wanted levels than past games.

4 star and above...all I have to say is don't get out of the car unless the engine dies or it catches fire. Those cops are quick on the trigger.

Anyway, I got away from a 4 star this morning for that achievement. Wasn't too bad. I made it onto the freeway around Francis International Airport and then made my way back through around the cab depot, etc to get out of range.

I got away from the 6-star wanted level by hopping into a police boat and driving up the river. Not sure what happened to the helicopters, but for some reason they didn't see me. It was a mad dash to the boat to make my getaway, but it went fine from there.

Well my curious self got a 6 star wanted level when I tried to go on to one of the bridges in the early parts of the game when they were blocked off for "safety" reasons. Needless to say, I only made it about 3 steps before I was taken down by a flurry of gunfire.

I have managed to escape from a 4 star wanted level 2 or 3 times now, though

Well my curious self got a 6 star wanted level when I tried to go on to one of the bridges in the early parts of the game when they were blocked off for "safety" reasons. Needless to say, I only made it about 3 steps before I was taken down by a flurry of gunfire.

Lol...I almost did the same thing.

I was just relaxing, exploring the city. In the early stages of the game mind you. So I walk up some stairs, then some more stairs, and then some more stairs not knowing where exactly that they are taking me.

So I reach the top and start to jog away from the stairs and realize that I'm on top of a walkway over a bridge. So I continue and see that the other part of Liberty City is over on the other side, and that there are no cops in sight. I think to myself, "Maybe this is how you can reach the other part of the City without cops chasing you. Yay!"

Wrong. I get to a certain point, and 6 stars flash up on the screen. My first reaction is "What the hell?" Then I'm seeing cops show up all over the radar, and about three choppers come flying in. Now I think to myself, "Aww Shoot(expletive version)!"

So I start running back to where I gained access to the bridge hoping that if I go back, they'd leave me alone. Nope. Choppers continue taking shots, I'm zig zagging thinking that's a smart thing to do to avoid fire. LOL...Not sure if it worked as I was still getting tagged. I reach the stairs and go all the way down to the water hoping to find a boat, and nothing. I go back to the street, find a car, but the damn door is locked so the cops are tagging my *** as I'm trying to break in. Finally get it started and start high tailing it out of there. I'm driving all over trying to avoid swat and cops and get away from the choppers that blew out my tires.

I see that the strip club is close, so I get out my car and head into there, in hopes that they wouldn't come in. They do, and continue firing at me. A girl asks if I want a dance, so I agree so that I can get into the backroom.

I finish my dance up and realize they are still out there. I manage to get outside and get into my car. But Swat was there waiting and left Nikko slumped over the wheel.

So I may not have gotten away from the six stars. But, I did end up with an achievement for staying alive for 5 or six minutes with a six star wanted level.

It's just like the saying goes, "Curiosity killed the cat."...Lol

I did the same thing, I was under the bridge though. So I wasn't able to get shot by anything. I ended up jumping from the bridge into the water, where the police boats kicked my ***.

I did the same thing except when I ran to the strip club I was looking for a backdoor obviously I didn't find one, so I ran back out front and I parked my car right at the little ramp leading you to the door from the parking lot

anyway hopped back into the car while getting pegged from all angles hoping and praying they wouldn't get a clean head shot on me. So I'm hauling tail back to my safehouse hoping I can make it, the car I started in lost both back tires so I fishtailed into an alleyway driver side door facing with me thinking of a possible escape route, get out the car and run down the alley. A SWAT truck closed off the end and proceeded to open fire so I hid behind the dumpster

picked off two SWAT guys so I figured I could take the truck some normal cops followed in behind me so I ran down to the SWAT and jumped in. Maybe three blocks I made it before the chopper picked up my location and rained down on my head. I dunno if this is a spoiler or not but I did make it to my safehouse....

forgot it was burned down

ran up and down looking for the door then ran down some stairs thinking maybe a door would open and got shot up worse than any "accidental" police shooting in history. I don't even think dental records would help the coroner
