How do you play GTA4 ????

Just curious about something..........I'm wondering how you play this game when it come to driving around town.

Mainly, I'm wondering about "normal" driving missions, not the run from the police or chase the bad guy variety (i.e. going on taxi jobs for Roman, going on dates or just tooling around town)???

Do you obey the rules of the road (i.e......drive at normal traffic pace, stop at red lights, stay out of oncoming traffic)???

I've found that I tend to haul *** all over town reagardless of what I'm doing or where I'm going, but to make this game even more fun and realistic, I may start driving at a slower pace and just enjoy the experience

How do you do it??

How do you do it??

I've always played the games driving 100 mph everywhere and doing e brake turns around corners. The game doesn't punish you for bad driving, as you can even cut traffic and blow through red lights right in front of cops. The old Driver games used to send the cops after you for spinning your tires if they saw you doing it.

For awhile at least, I might be a good Liberty City citizen on the roads and behave myself. But as many of you know, I tend to be a run and gun type player online so I'm sure the slow paced drive around like granny stuck in molasses will get old quick

I was just thinking that the city is so alive and there is so much going on around Niko that I may be missing ALOT by being in such a mad dash to get everywhere.

If I need to get somewhere quickly, haul. If I'm just driving around looking for something to do or have a 'date' in the car, I'll drive more carefully going slow and even stopping for some traffic lights. I actually have been taking the subway and cabs a lot lately and enjoying the ride and radio.

well you will miss the good and the bad. I have noticed that the driver AI on bridges is sometimes horrible if you are just following them in a line. This was also present in San Andreas on the highways. Cars will swerve into other lanes, sometimes acting like they want to go over the side of the bridge. I was driving fast, and a car completely swerved into my lane when I was on a bike. I was able to slow down enough to save myself, but Roman went flying over me and bounced off a couple of cars and looked dead. He later called me to pick him up at the hospital..lol.

nothing beats coming over the apex of a bridge and seeing the city lit up at night though.

Yeah, it probably goes against the grain for GTA branded games, but it would be cool if they added an option via DLC to turn on a "rules of the road" setting. Making cops inforce red lights, stop signs and just general dangerous driving. You know, have a bunch of snitches on their cell phones telling on Niko every time he bumps somebody's fender....LOL

Imagine how much more time it would take to finish this game if you played with those kind of restraints

Again, it could be an option that people can choose to use or not. I'd be inclined to play that way if the police were on top of stuff like that. It could very well make this game play out twice or three times as long.....WOW!!!!

if was more annoying in San Andreas, as you could mod cars in the game, but the ps2 would occasionally forget it and erase the paint jobs when you brought it back out of the garage. so messing up a modded car pissed me off.

In this game, I'm sure it's annoying to people that like to cruise, but when you're lead footing it around, you don' care as much when you ding a car up. The game is great and I can over look some driver AI issues, although they were present in the last gen games as well.

Sometimes I drive around, get out of my car, and punch women in the face. The men in GTA tend to disagree with my actions, while pulling out their guns and shooting me.

Yet if I punched a guy in the face, they would root me on. What gives?

I was thinking the same, that would be cool to have as an option to add more replayablilty to the game.

I tend to haul *** whenever I'm driving. Lately I've been using the cabs/Roman's car service a lot to get me to where I need to go - espeically if I have plans with a friend and need to be there within an "hour" and I'm on the other side of the city.

I use taxis if it's a pretty long drive (especially over bridges) and I don't really need any specific type of car for that mission. Otherwise I tend to drive fast in the middle of the road (I've gotten really good at driving between the cars in my lane and the oncoming traffic).

I like watching the city and all that, but eventually I get bored

There was a traffic jam at a red light... both sides of the street had at least 4 cars in each lane. 1 of them being a cop. So me being the good citizen that I am, slowed down and tried to get through by going in between the 2 lanes fo car. Well I slowly pass up the cop, not hitting him or any other cars at all, and thinking i'm clear to go. As I pass up the red light, I hear the sirens turn on. I'm like.. woah they're gonna pull me over for running a red light. As I stop to see if they'd arrest me, I hear them or someone says.. "I bet that scared em..."

I haul *** pretty much everywhere I go. If I'm a long ways away, and have to meet someone within an hour. I'll use Romans cab service, it's fast, and it's free. I do the occasional stroll through town at a slower pace. Never obey the law though, **** em'!
