CoH does look nice, too. I'll have to add that to the list.

Are there any (good) RTS games where you can control King Arthur? Big Art fan here, so yeah. I'll have to check out Medieval 2. I know Rome: Total War looks nice.

Thanks for the impressions guys, keep em coming.
Civ 4 is tops. If I could have one computer game, it would be that one. I sometimes get all nostalgic for civ 2 and alpha centauri, but civ 4 is just epic. The production value is extremely high and the gameplay is deep.

If you are a fan of King Arthur type things, Medieval 2 is the best out there in terms of medieval warfare. Pretty deep gameplay and better than Rome in terms of gameplay (all battles in Rome can essentially be won in under 5 minutes once you figure it out, unless you go out and get some mods).

Yeah, Civilization was at the top of my list because I've always wanted to play it because I've heard great things, just never had a computer to handle it.

Is Sim City any good anymore? The last one I played was about 8-10 years ago and remembering it being okay - for some reason I couldn't get any damn cars on the road.

I have played 'Sim City 4' and the expansion 'Rush Hour' to death! It seems to streamline the day to day stuff and yet makes expansion easy and logical. The 'Rush Hour' driving missions are pretty cool as well and Maxis still has all the downloads up for the game adding landmarks and new vehicles.

Whatever you do stay far, FAR away from 'Sim City Societies', which is a bastardized version of the franchise that garnered terrible reviews.

Simcity 4 is pretty good. I didnt care for 3 as much, and Simcity 2000 was my favorite by far.

MTW2, Sim City, and Silent Hunter 3 are my 3 PC games in rotation. There are some great mods and fixes for all 3 online.

I have Sim City 4 w/ Rush Hour ($20 at Target). Very good game and can be modded to fix some issues. Plus since the game has been out a long time there are TONS of custom buildings that have been designed by the user community that you can download.

I just ordered Black & White 2, Civ IV, and Company of Heroes last night - though I gotta wait on my laptop to be built and shipped out next week. Can't wait to test them out.

How is The Movies? That was a game I always wanted to test out.

Does your laptop have Vista? The Movies wont run for me citing a compatibility issue with Vista which hasn't been fixed yet.

Nah. I opted for XP to make sure my camera and the games would work; plus I've heard MS is already working on a replacement for Vista.

                      Bump.

Got all the games installed today. I had a little trouble installing CoH, but once I got my driver off of Dell.com, everything went smoothly. I've only played Civ IV thus far, but that game is awesome. Its very deep as crap, gonna take me forever to wrap my head around it.

I know this probably isn't the best thread to ask, but I figured I would ask here first before making a new thread. What are some accessories that you guys find are necessary for laptops? I was looking at wireless mouses today at Circuit City and the small Keningtons (?) caught my eye. I know I will probably pick up a mouse and definitely a carrying bag, but wasn't sure what other accessories you guys would recommend?
