Official GTA IV "I've beaten the story and now I'm trying to get to 100%" Thread.

THIS IS FOR FOLKS WHO HAVE ALREADY BEATEN THE STORY MODE SO QUIT READING IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT SPOILERS, ETC.

I figured for those of us who have already beaten the game we could have a thread to discuss pigeon hunting, internet dating, zit, etc.

I just saw where you can really get the music from the game THROUGH the game using that ZIT thing? How does that work?

I completed the One Man Army achievement tonight...Stayed alive for 12 minutes at a 6 star level, blew up or shot down 12 helicopters, killed roughly 60 cops, and blew up 20 cop cars.

I killed everyone on the Most Wanted list but haven't gotten the achievement yet. Also..can you get inside the Comedy Club and Dance Club? Everytime I go by them they are closed.

There are 10 per island. So if you are in Algonquin for example and enter the Most Wanted list via the police computer, you'll get a different list from that of Alderney and the first island. You have to complete all 3 lists before getting the achievement...i just finished them off about an hour ago, and got the achievement.

If you did all that and didn't get the achievement, then i'm not sure whats gone wrong...maybe double check each list just to make sure you didn't miss one.

AFAIK, ZIT it is just a phone service that tells you the name of the song currently playing on the radio, via text message. I've forgotten the number, but it was given to you via email by Brucie (as a way to impress the ladies with your knowledge of tunes lol). Once you've called them the first time, its stored as a contact in your phone.

If the ZIT service provides something else, then i'd like to know too...

1) Is it possible to go out on a date with a GUY via that web service? (Not including the guy in one of the early missions, of course) I think the only other gay guy on there is "NoBigWillie" and he rejected me...

2) Is it possible to meet Lazlow on the streets anywhere while he's doing his "Live" radio show?

As for a reply to the thread title, i finished the game via the supposedly "less popular and easier" ending. After doing all of the police-related stuff yesterday and today, i'm up to 78.75% in 60 hours of play.

Let me know how the stunt jumps work for you, if you are successful at it maybe I will get back into it. Im sitting at 89.25% with approx. 78 hours played. When I stopped I had 29 stunt jumps to complete, a few activities to do with the friends and 5 races through Brucie and I would have been done, so its not like I have a lot of stuff to do.

If you sign in at the Rockstar Games Social Club, log in and link your PSN or XBL account... there's a little thingy on the right where it saves your Zit songlist... Each song is then linked to Amazon.com's mp3 dl site where you can buy it.

Other than that, you can't really buy it THROUGH the game. Unless if you use the PS3 browser

except the social club website is trash and hasn't updated stats recently. It only has one listed for me, which I did like on the first day I played the game. I've "zitted" lots of songs. The site doesn't even have me as beating the game yet. Bungie's in depth Halo 3 stat tracking was far better than Rockstar's effort.

how is it less popular or easier? The final missions are the same except they swap characters depending on what you did. Since we all beat the game here, I chose to do what Roman said for the final decision, and didn't even read spoilers before that. It sucked what happened, but sounds like the better ending to me.

The pigeons suck. I like the idea of shooting the pigeons, but the reward is terrible. Why did they have to take away the incremental rewards? I'd love to get a free pistol at my safehouses after finding 10 or 20 pigeons. And after X amount get something new.

I chose "A Dish Served Cold" and it was ANYTHING but "easy".

I have the game saved where you make the decision so if I feel like it, I can go back and try the other route to get the alternate ending.

me too, although I read spoilers about the other ending anyways. Might try it if I ever go for the achievement to beat the game in under 30 hours. I didn't care for the other person affected by choosing revenge. I went with the deal and the ending sounds better to me.

Blah, this sucks that I'm away from my 360 until the end of the month. Feels alot different playing on PS3. Maybe since I haven't touched a dualshock controller in a long while.

Anyway, do you guys mark the stunt jumps on the map R* gives you with the game?

I didn't even know there were two endings.

Today, I did about 10 jumps, then turned off my system. Unknown to me, jumps don't autosave.

That's weird. All the other little things save, you think jumps would too. I just beat the game the other night and will probably start hunting pigeons - I've killed about 30 of them just doing random crap.

I have to say, even though I'm kind of bummed that the taxi, ambulance, and firetruck missions aren't in this one, I really enjoy how they have set up the police missions through the computer. Plus, having an FIB Buffalo makes it even better.

It was "less popular" simply because from what i've read most people on this forum and two other forums i visit chose Revenge over the deal (the first time they had to make that decision).

And i assumed it was "easier" because people on the other two forums who have completed both endings generally considered the Deal avenue alot easier than the Revenge (in particular the last mission). I've only completed the Deal method atm and the only hard part about either the mission with Phil or hunting down Dmitri was the boat part (controlling it and maintaining enough speed to get under the chopper)...that part took a few attempts for me. Once i had got into the chopper, shooting him down wasn't overly difficult, and the Happiness Island part was probably the easist part of the level...i completed these parts of the level first time.

I've only tried the Revenge avenue once, and i couldn't even get to Dmitri on the ship (i opened the hatch, but died on my way back through the ship's cabins). I personally found it alot harder to target enemies on the ship than in the factory or the casino (i just stormed the factory and for the casino level i used a few grenades to clear out the cars/enemies outside the casino, which made targeting the alive ones alot easier due to a lack of cover).

I went through all of the stunt jumps, and have one left. One. I even printed off a map of the locations. So either it glitched, or I missed one. So there's a 1 in 50 chance it'll be the last one I get to if I redo it. There's probably a 99% chance this killed my desire to go for 100%.

This is exactly why I hate collecting stuff in games. The orbs in crackdown, the hidden pigeons in this, if you miss one while going through, how the **** are you going to find it again without going back to each place?
