I agree, the atmosphere in Bioshock is really great. There are so many different weapon types that you get a really good variety during gameplay. As you progress, you start to figure out different ways to take out your enemy (it is so much fun to set traps for an enemy once you enter a new room). At least download the demo and try it out.

If you own a 360 and do not have COD4, you have committed a grave error.
IMO, COD4 is the best game made for 360 yet. There is nothing better. It contains barely any online glitches, it loads at warp speed, the feel of the gameplay is perfect, the framarate is incredible..the graphics..etc etc etc.
You must buy this game if you have a 360 and like FPS. It's that simple.Comment

Re: Best single player first person shooter for 360?
I just watched a video trailer of COD 4 and I was very impressed by the visuals. (like i said, I am a sucker for graphics)......
I think its going to be between COD 4 and Gears of War....and maybe Bad Company (I just can't stop playing that demo).
Is COD 4 a major improvement over COD 2? Is it worth the price difference (strictly as a single player game)?PSN ID: Lordcledus

Best? That's a horrible question. Depends on your mood, depends on if you want single or multiplayer, depends on which sub-genre. Too hard to analzye. One thing's for sure, the 360 is a great FPS system."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment

I think we can all agree that you can't go wrong with Halo 3, Bioshock, COD4, Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2. There all great games.Comment

Re: Best single player first person shooter for 360?
I have to tell you guys that I went home and downloaded some demos last night...
COD 2 - I don't know if its just my age or what but I don't think i can hang with a game like this. There's too much going on....i didn't even know what to do...where to shoot, etc... LOL, one things for sure, I would definitely fold under pressure if I was a real soldier......I was just shooting at everybody and everything that moved. The game kept restarting because i kept shooting my own guys. I remember walking into a cloud of dust from all the bullets and explosions and I couldn't see a thing and I just started shooting all around me like a crazy man would do lol.......I don't know, it was just a little too fast paced for me. I used to be able to play games like this when I was alot younger (not that I'm THAT old or anything). Maybe the poster above had a point when he said "it depends on what mood I'm in..." ...I guess I just wasn't in the mood for a war game last night.
I dont' know, I just didn't enjoy it as much as i did the Bad Company demo...I have know idea why....
Bioshock- I had the lights off and the sound up and it was kind of creepy. Graphics were very nice i thought. I still don't think this is my cup of tea however. Monsters and aliens or whatever they are just don't do it for me. I was very impressed by the visuals tho....
Plus my wife is into all that sci-fi stuff and if I buy this game, she would want to play and never get off....I would lose some of my precious gaming time because she would be on it
I also downloaded the Bourne Conspiracy demo...and I know it's not a first person shooter, but I really enjoyed it. But I am afraid I may get bored with it after a while...I usually do with 3rd person games like this.
I am still looking for my first non-sports 360 title. I may just go ahead and wait for Bad Company....like I said, I don't know why I would enjoy this more than COD since they are both army games....I just can't put my finger on it....maybe it's the characters in Bad Company that make me enjoy it more..."Basketball is my favorite sport
I like the way they dribble up and down the court

Re: Bad Company: Best single player first person shooter for 360?
Whats the best overall 1st person shooter game for the 360? It is very RARE that I purchase a game that is NOT a sports title. However, I am growing a little bored with the 2 games I own (nba 2k8 and APF2k8)...My gaming time is very limited so I don't think I could own a game like GTA, which seems like it is by far the best non-sports game availiable. First person shooters would be good for me I think since I can play it in shorter time frames.
So, are there any good ones out there for the 360? The last non-sports title i owned was BLACK for the good 'ol xbox.
I downloaded the demo for Battlefield:Bad Company yesterday and found that pretty fun....the graphics in the cutscenes are VERY nice....gameplay graphics are pretty good....sound is amazing.
I'm a sucker for graphics and storylines....
Is there any game out there that you would suggest, or should I just wait for Bad Company?
I was in the same boat as you. I had never played a non sports game. But I heard all the hype for GTA IV, so I rented it. It rocked. I thought the story was fun and the extra side missions were enjoyable. It would be something you could play a mission at a time.
I am struggling to find another game now. I am spoiled that GTA IV was easy to find cover and aim by just using the left stick. And when you walk around the camera doesn't pan with you to keep you view from behind.Comment

Another negative is that I probably would only be able to play this game after my son goes to bed. He is a very receptive 5 year old and I really don't want him to be watching me play a game like this will all the language and sexual content.
I do wish there was GTA demo i could check out
I may just forget it all together (getting a non-sports title that is) and just reserve me a copy of NCAA 09......lolLast edited by K_rob11; 06-20-2008, 12:32 PM."Basketball is my favorite sport

I'll say this much: I didn't get more than about twenty minutes out of Halo 3... it just didn't interest me for whatever reason.
Though I'm of the contingent that the Halo series is kinda overrated anyhow, but that's another story. Point is, you probably can do better than Halo.Comment
