This would be my first MMO game so any information you can pass along would be helpful. Reason I'm interested in the game is because of the DC world. Would you say this game will be based on repeating the same missions over and over once you reach a high level point?

Probably. Though most of my MMO experience comes from a fantasy standpoint like WoW or EverQuest where you get to a high enough level and you start doing multi-person raids on the same dungeons over and over to get rare drops for armor sets and such. I don't know if DC World will follow that format.

I would think that you'd get a free month free purchase to see if you like it.

Interesting... thanks Cyros. Makes me doubt myself about buying this game now. My hope was that they would be releasing new stories based on the comic world every so often.

Well, I haven't really followed their development (seems they went quiet for a long time), but they may choose to leverage the DC liscence to provide a more constant stream of content.

Word is coming in from a live feed at Newsarama that Sony Online Entertainment has just dropped a bomb on the potential MMO gaming world of PS3. Apparently if you are a member of PlayStation Plus Newsarama is reporting that you will not be paying any monthly fee for the beat-em-up massive online multi-player title DC Universe Online which was nominated for a Best in Show award at E3 2010. Could it be that Sony Online Entertainment will be making this a standard practice for their MMO titles. this is Potentially MEGATON news if indeed true.

PSN+ stuff is not true. It was confirmed yesterday during a Q&A after the DC Universe Panel that a free 30-day subscription would be included with the purchase of the game, but after that, it's $14.99 a month for both PC and PS3.

I'd get this game if it was free online with PSN+. I'm not going to pay a monthly fee for a game though.

Ignorant question of the day: Can you play this game offline?

I was very excited to try this game, but at $14.99/month, I'm out.
Hopefully you can play it offline and not have to pay any fee.
