PS2 - FFXII, Dark Cloud 2, Rogue Galaxy, Star Ocean Till the End of Time, Tales of the Abyss.

360 - Oblivion, Fable (The Lost Chapters) if you never played that on the original Xbox.

I want to echo my love for FF12. That game gets alot of hate for trying to fix something that ain't broke but I absolutely loved it

What about the new Civ? I'm a PC guy now but the new Civ looks cool.

fighting in oblivion is absolutely nothing like KoToR. Both were great games, but could not be more different.

                      ^^^Correctomundo.

Oblivion's fighting is all real time, with no pauses. With sword fighting, the focus is on moving in and out while choosing the proper sword slash. With sword and shield, you mix this up with blocking/parrying. You can also do dodge rolls while you do this, and really avoid being hit if your timing is right. There is no guaranteed return attack for the enemies if your agility is tight.

With magic, you can combine your projectiles with the above stated fighting methods, or summon creatures while you avoid the enemy altogethe.

With the bow and arrow you can either fill the enemy up until they charge you, or spend the whole time shooting and dodging. It's a fun system.

                          All PS2...

Rogue Galaxy - Some people really like it, but I only think it's above average.

Tales series (Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Legendia, etc) - Games in the Tales series are rarely great, but they are never worse than average.

Summoner and Summoner 2 - The first Summoner was pretty good, but Summoner 2 is criminally overlooked. If someone enjoyed KOTOR for its gameplay, then they would enjoy Summoner 2. The quest design, exploration, NPC party management, and combat are the same as KOTOR...just less refined since it came out a year before. It's also an ugly looking game and starts off horribly, but I would say that it's the best Western style RPG on the PS2.
