Can anyone help me set up Dolby for my Xbox?

Ok bear with me, I have a very awkward home theater setup.
    It goes like this:
20" TV: very old- only a coaxial cable output
VCR: connected to the TV via coaxial
Home Theater: connected to VCR via regular inputs
Xbox: connected to VCR via regular inputs

Basically everything runs thru my VCR then to the TV.

Short of buying a new TV or tons of expensive converters, is there any way I can optimize my setup a little more? Can the Xbox somehow be connected via the Home Theater Receiver?

    I'm hopeless, I know.
    Thanks.

there's probably people here that'll know a lot more than me, but I think you should be able to buy a reciever, connect the VCR to that, and use the reciever to get all the speakers, subwoofer, and all that. So you wouldn't have to modify your current system too much. It might be a good idea, if you have the cash, to get a new tv. They have pretty nice 27" ones for 250-300

        thanks.
I have a receiver (home thtr), but was mainly wondering if I could run the Xbox thru that to pick up better sound (seems to get lost a bit going thru too many places).

Not looking to drop $ on a new TV right now b/c it's a 2nd TV. We have a 36" one in our living room that my roomie bought, but I have a den (former renter used it as an office) where I have the small TV, plus a smaller one (17"?) that I keep on constantly.
last night I was playing Xbox while watching all the Big East games at the same time. good times.

I'm buying all new tv, reciever and all that soon, and what I've got is old, but there should be a way to do it. it all just depends on the reciever. I've got an old one that doesn't handle the video routing, just sound, but if yours does video too, I think everything would have to go through the VCR since you can't just hook the xbox to the tv. you might be able to get away with hooking the xbox audio to the reciever and the video to the vcr, but that'd take some tweaking to get it working

I have a TV with the rca jacks and Home theatre system hook up, but to get Dolby You need to buy some type of audio hook-up to get the actual Dolby sound. You can't just hook it up to your tv, or HTS, like a regular dvd. I asked a question similar to yours, and that's how I found out. You'll only get regular AUX sound if you hook it up with your current set-up. Check these threads for the topic, and you'll find info about the proper hook-up.
