    Is this game even possible? Jesus. I've made it to a single boss, and he whooped my *** (Magma Man, or something close).

    I mean, really - he just fires off 3 shots that I can only hope to be lucky to dodge, and they seem to take off way more than my crappy single shots do.

    I'm already really frustrated with this game. It just seems to hard for the sake of just being hard. It's almost to the point where it isn't even fun.

      I was thinking about downloading this game for the Wii because I figure that eventually they will have the previous 8 games available on the VC. I just checked and it looks like they still only have 1 and 2 and the thing that really stood out to me was that 2 was 800pts. WTF?!? That makes zero sense.

        In all seriousness, yes, it's hard. Even the stages are (I can't even get past the Magma Man midstage boss without a certain special weapon, nice job pulling that off!). IMO, Magmaman's also one of the tougher bosses to beat with just the mega buster. It's best to just try out all the stages and make it to the bosses, and see if you can squeak a win against one of them. After that, it's all downhill because each of the robot masters is weak against another's special weapon. It's just a matter of finding which one is weak against the weapons you've got. When you do, they'll fall fairly easily.

        Then, once you think you've got everything figured out, you'll hit the castle...good luck with that!

        Oh yeah, one other thing....the store. Use it. It's that little home symbol at the bottom of the stage select screen. Plenty of useful things there. Screws (or bolts, if you prefer) are easy to come by, and you can build up quite a stock of energy tanks, spike guards, Beat calls and whatever else. Consider yourself lucky....back in the first game we couldn't even carry energy tanks over after game overs. Rush? What's that?

          lol I don't understand why people are complaining about how hard the game is. If you played any of the Mega Mans on NES/SNES then you should know what you're in store for when playing this game. Yes it's difficult but no more so than Mega Man 2 or 3 were.

          I beat Magma Man earlier today and the mid-stage boss sucks. I got past it with one bar of life left. I used a certain weapon against it but I have no idea if that worked or not. I just kept jumping and shooting, hoping not to land on the fireballs. I also beat Tornado Man last night and now I have three bosses left to fight before attempting Wily's Castle. And of the five bosses I've beaten, I've done them in such an order that I still have no idea which weapons work against certain bosses.

            Megaman ....Ah this game really takes me back in time, I forgot how hard the bosses used to be in this game. LOL

                      Just bumping this to mention the endless mode DLC, which has been out since Thursday on the PSN.

                      Basically it's a a bunch of rooms strung together randomly, with a boss at room 30 (and I'd assume that pattern continues, though the farthest I've made it is 42 rooms). Your "score" is based on how many rooms you get through without dying. Special weapons are essential - you can make it through a lot of areas with normal MM, but you'll probably take damage. And although you can pick up energy pellets throughout the stages, some of the non-boss rooms are particularly nasty. Using the special weapons - especially Jewel Satelite and Tornado Blow - allow you to get through some of these tougher areas relatively safely. The Rush adaptors should get a lot of use too - after all, don't want to blow your long run by narrowly missing a jump, right?

                      The rooms run the gamut of everything you've ever seen in an 8-bit MM game - ice, disappearing blocks, treacherous platform jumping, etc. And - oh yes - spikes. Lots of them. Any of which will end your run immediately. Several of those rooms show up where you have to know which direction to fall to avoid getting impaled.                       All in all, it's pretty fun for $2 or whatever it was (that and the Proto DLC are separate). I'm already seeing a few guys with 400+ rooms on the rankings - some people apparently aren't finding it too difficult.

Your "score" is based on how many rooms you get through without dying. Special weapons are essential - you can make it through a lot of areas with normal MM, but you'll probably take damage. And although you can pick up energy pellets throughout the stages, some of the non-boss rooms are particularly nasty. Using the special weapons - especially Jewel Satelite and Tornado Blow - allow you to get through some of these tougher areas relatively safely. The Rush adaptors should get a lot of use too - after all, don't want to blow your long run by narrowly missing a jump, right?

                          The rooms run the gamut of everything you've ever seen in an 8-bit MM game - ice, disappearing blocks, treacherous platform jumping, etc. And - oh yes - spikes. Lots of them. Any of which will end your run immediately. Several of those rooms show up where you have to know which direction to fall to avoid getting impaled.                             Not 400 distinct ones...at that point I'm sure people would be seeing lots and lots of repeats. But I read that the challenge gets ramped up too the farther you go, because enemies start causing more damage per hit.

                              actually, once you get into the game, you can see how a majority of the achievements are easier than they appear.

                                Magma Man is actually one of the easiest bosses to beat once you figure out his pattern. Trust me, you can face him and never take a hit if you know where to be and when to jump.

                                But, that's one of the things I find so amazing about this game.

                                Mega Man is really only as hard as you make it to be. It's actually an easy game, but it's all patterns. The entire damn thing, and until you figure out the pattern of each level, you'll do more than you need to.

                                Seriously, Magma Man's level is all about jumping. The mid-level boss is the hardest and yea, there are weapons that make it easier to get through.

                                Galaxy Man is a walk-through of a level. You can almost get through that without firing a shot. Seriously.
