    Re: Wolfenstein

As long as it has the teamwork that RTCW did then I'll be happy. I was a medic in that game and would always have a blast...you couldn't just run and gun your way through, you had to have a plan and help from your team to get the documents back to your base.

RTCW was probably the most fun online shooter experience I've had.

Yes. In that interview I posted one of the developers said it would be similar to RTCW. Also take a look at the concept art Flawless posted a few posts above.

          Wolfenstein Dated for August 4

Activision today nailed down a release date for Raven's upcoming shooter Wolfenstein, scheduling the game for an arrival on August 4.

Wolfenstein puts players in the shoes of series regular BJ Blazkowicz as he blasts his way through occult-obsessed Nazis.

The shooter is set to ship simultaneously PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Hopefully we get a look at the multiplayer at E3. I know they said it would be similar to RTCW, but I've become a little suspect ever since they said the new veil powers will be apart of multiplayer.

I was a little worried before when hearing about the inclusion of the new veil powers in multiplayer, but I'm starting to get even more worried. Currently, this is coming out August 17, and we still have barely seen or heard anything in regards to the multiplayer, other than "It will be similar to RTCW".

well Activision is just going to throw the game out at this point. While Raven makes good games, it going to be a dated game with the id Tech 4 engine anyways. At least when compared to Halo ODST and MW2. It doesn't matter how the multiplayer is, it's going to get steamrolled. The game should have been released like a year ago.

I have such fond memories of "Tides Of War" for the Xbox I'll probably get it unless the reviews are terrible. It was my first shooter (I don't count the original Halo, because it wasn't online and I played very little of it), and I'm almost nostalgic about it, although it seems like it's been longer than six years since it was released.

Word. The OS battles in that were epic. It was great having like 12 or more of us in a room every night battling it out for months. Nothing quite as infuriating as getting the docs and then getting sniped a second later by Shawns rocket launcher, his ability to do that from across the map and time it out is still one of the most amazing things I've seen in an FPS online.

Never got into the OS battles because I work(ed) nights, but remember a lot of feedback from OSers back then. Not to be redundant but it seems like more than 6 years ago.

Still without question the most fun I've ever had with a game online. I'm not a big online guy and I liked Enemy Territory, but just not the same. If they can even come close with the online play, first day buy for me.

Wolfenstein Multiplayer Details: Eight Maps, Three Classes, Veil Powers, Unlocks

Developer Endrant Studios is working on the multiplayer component of Raven's Wolfenstein, and has now revealed all the details on what to expect when going online with the shooter.

"Players can enter the veil dimension and use veil powers much like the ones BJ has access to, as well as all the standard weapons and items," said Endrant's Matt Wilson to GameSpot.

Multiplayer veil powers won't include the slowing of time, as they do in the single-player campaign, but will instead work as more traditional class-based powers. For example, the medic's veil power is a simple healing ability.

"In multiplayer, you're not BJ--you're a member of either the Resistance or the Axis, and you play as one of three roles: soldier, medic or engineer," added Wilson. "We wanted to keep the three roles distinct, so we gave them their own unique veil powers that are specific to their responsibilities within the team."

Eight multiplayer maps will be playable on three modes: Team Deathmatch, Objective, and Stopwatch.

"In Objective mode, the attacking team tries to complete one or more objectives in the map while the defending team tries to stop them," said Wilson. "In Stopwatch, you do the same but swap over at half-time, and the attacking team which completed the map fastest is the overall winner."

The game will also feature a choice of unlockable upgrades to weapons and powers.

"The unlocks for each give you options on what to upgrade and when, but you can only have one unlock per category (weapon, item, veil power, etc.) active at once," explained Wilson. "Some of the choices you'll have to make are things like power versus accuracy, reload time versus recoil/muzzle kick."

Agreed. Some of the best memories of playing on live was with RTCW. The game was just mad fun with a full room.
