    Does XBox Live cost money?

Hiya everyone. I currently am a PS2 owner, but have a few questions about XBox and Xbox Live.

    1) Does XBox live have a subscription fee? If it does, how much?

    2) What is the current price of the XBox? Do you think it will price drop in the near future?

    3) In the future, are sports games going to be represented well on XBox? I bought a PS2 over Xbox a little over a year ago for sports games, but it now seems XBox is catching up.

    4) I read briefly about a SharkPort like device being made for XBox in the not too distant future.. How soon will this device be released?

    5) If my PS2 is online via Linksys Router, will I be able to get an XBox online without any problems? I would be using the same router, etc.

    6) If an XBox uses a hard drive, how can I take my game saves/rosters to a friends and play them there? Or can't I without taking my whole XBox over to his place? PS2 has a memory card, what does XBox have?

    7) Lets assume I want to buy an XBox with online capabilities, one game, and whatever I need to have DVD capabilities. What will I need to buy exactly, and how much will I probably end up spending in the end?

I love my PS2, but I also realize XBox is a great console and I am thinking about looking into getting one.

Aside from my questions, if you have anything to add about why I should or shouldn't get an XBox, please feel free to post reasons.

    Thanks much.

I believe the current price of the Xbox is $199.99. I think it comes with the Xbox, S-controller, and two games.

Click on the link below to read about a possible Sharkport for Xbox.

Xbox does have a memory card.

I don't even own a Xbox, but most likely I am going to get one. Just click on the EBgames icon in the upper right hand corner and go to the XBox section, that is were I got the info on how much it costs.

Live costs $49.99 for one year, the headset and 2 game demos. Pretty much the same price as the PS2 Net Adapter.

            1) Canadian Guy answered that
            2) Price is above as well (some stores have Xbox's with a 3rd game in them, Rallisport Challenge. I noticed this in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago). Price drop possibly by summer. If I had to bet on it I would say not til Xmas.
            3) Sports games are already getting well represented. As long as Sega is around Xbox will have sports, and Sega can only get better with them. I am going to assume Madden and NCAA Football will come out for Xbox again, but anything can still happen there.
            4) The link above looks promising.
            5) I have a linksys router (also used for PS2) and turned the xbox on, put Live disk in and was online in the matter of 45 seconds.
            6) Memory Cards available (think that was already mentioned above).
            7) chick EbGames link for that and current pricing. You need the DVD Kit to play DVDs and have to have the Live kit to get online. Plus the cost of the system, and a second controller if you desire also to add into the mix.
