I played yesterday for about 4 hours and I am at level 10 if that helps. The game really shines when you have to choose how to use your skill points. My suggestion is to use your first 4 skill points to use get med kit, and then the recissication (sp?) ability. Healing others is a good way to rack up XP.

Re: MAG (PS3)
My biggest gripe with the game, so far, isnt the games fault.
Its with the large number of idiots you get teamed up with.
Game lays out the obectives ( in the 1st few battles ) pretty clear. Attack or defend A and B. However, lo and behold when the game starts, you will have 3 teammates running to A, 3 running to B, 1 trying to test his weapon and friendly fire kills someone, and the last guy running to no objective.
The maps are large enough that you dont respawn very close to the action and the time between death and you getting back to where you can be effective is usually about 30 secs to 1 min.
Ive died right next to 3 medics standing in a defensive room and not one of them has rezzed me. Ive run through a hail of bullets, only to have a guy Im running to rez decide to respawn as soon as you get there. Ive watched people with sniper rifles running into a room of 4 enemy and trying to melee them. It really makes no sense. I watch people with darn near 0 life try to suicide into a building instead of letting a medic heal them and are only 3 steps away. When defending objective C, pretty much the entire platoon is in one buidling trying to fend off an attack, so healing people should be easier than out in the field.
However, soon as someone dies they respawn instead of getting rezzed.
Ive gone from having an amazing experience...to a subpar experience...to wanting to put my controller through a wall..back to an amazing experience again.
You have to work as a team in this game, but Id guess a huge majority all wants to be Rambo and everyone loses that way.
Your mileage in this game will vary from game to game. One minute it will be the biggest pile of poo you have played and the very next game can be a spectacular experience.
Ive never experienced that in a game before.Comment

This game can give you such a roller-coaster feeling with all of its ups and downs. It really just depends on who you're teamed up with. That's why I'm glad to see that OS has a clan, and maybe that'll help minimize the amount of time that I'm partnered with random idiots.Comment

Re: MAG (PS3)
Yea, I have MW2.
Ive never been much of an online person with the exception of MMOs.
MW2 is quite a bit different than MAG in many different areas. When I was on MW2, I never saw any team play, but it really didnt matter near as much as it does here.
ON MW2 you were literally sconds away from any objective and you might just respawn on top of the enemy. This game is a requires alot more thought and strats to pull off the victory, as opposed to MW2 where you basically get a chopper, harrier, gunship type kill streak and then nuke the place.
Really enjoy the games where people play together and really hate the games where everyone runs off in their own direction.
Looking forward to more battles tonight.Comment

Re: MAG (PS3)
I must be missing something, as far as healing goes..
So, I'm a medic.. and for some reason I cant figure out how the hell to heal someone. I know how to pull out the medic gun, but I cant do **** with it.. someone feel like filling me in ?
Also, they should have bundled this game with a headset, like they did socom..Comment

Re: MAG (PS3)
You have to get the 2nd medic gun under skills. You train the first 2 points and you get the kit that can heal yourself, but then you have to get the skill "Resuscitate" or something like that. Costs 4 points total I believe.
Once you get that skill and select your medikit, just point it at the injured or dead player and a healing icon will appear and your reticle will turn yellow. Pull R1 then and it will revive or heal the other player.Comment

Re: MAG (PS3)
I have a question for you MAG owners.
I am a big fan of the COD series. but I am not the typical COD player ...the run n gunner with no thought and no strategy.
I am slower paced, I check my corners, etc and play very carefully.
Some will say, you're perfect for MAG then....
but my issue is, I just don't care too much about joining a clan nor do i use a mic. Will I have fun in this game playing solo but with care? I am not going to be rambo, as I tend to try to stick with teammates and play methodically....
thanks for the inputComment

Re: MAG (PS3)
I would say Graphics are not great but they are smooth. There are a lot more guys in the game than Warhawk. The gameplay is less arcadey and more realalistic. Real weapons and Vehicles(for the year 2025 anyway).follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment
