I don't care whether it's an exclusive or not, I was just stating my opinion on exclusive items by 3rd party. I never mentioned the Joker at all in my post.

Can you post where you found those reviews? I'm just curious because I haven't read that anywhere.

And tiko, I don't think you understand what he's saying. You have to download Joker challange levels from the PSN store to use him, correct? If that's the case, people who don't have online will buy the PS3 version thinking they will get to use the Joker, but ultimately find out they can't.

And EG, even if they get the PS3 version and don't have online doesn't mean they'll be ticked off. The games are exactly the same, so there's no reason for one to be distraught after looking back and thinking oh shoot they could have bought the 360 version.

The IGN review mentioned the 360 version looked better.

Oh, I agree with you, the game is going to be fantastic. But someone out there will buy the PS3 version and be mad they can't use The Joker because he's DLC and they aren't online. Just the way it's marketed, you think it's available from the start, and people like to complain These will even be people who don't own a 360, I didn't mean it that way.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to sway anyone saying they shouldn't buy the PS3 because the Joker is DLC.

It's a big plus to buy that version if you have both consoles IMO.

Don't see why IGN even mentioned. Seeing both I just noticed the 360 version is sharper as always thanks to better AA. Other than they both look fantastic.

Isn't AA built into the 360, whereas each PS3 game needs AA to be coded into it?

Interested in picking this up. Really liked the demo, but thought the PS3 demo looked better than the 360 version. Didn't really make thorough comparison though. Really wanted it for the 360 for the achievements so thanks for the insight

Maybe that's why I was less impressed by the PS3 version's visuals. They looked good, but everyone was claiming them to be like the best ever. Those saying that must have played the 360 demo.

moses ps3 is free online so i mean i dont get what the hard part about that is.

thats interesting tho extreme gamer that the xbox360 verison looks better cuz the ps3 looks pretty damn good.. thats good insight info by you thanks.

anyways i am just stating that the joker is exclusive to ps3 thats it nothing else and on all the articles that i googled its staying on ps3 exclusivley FOREVER(sandlot) lol but the 360 is getting DLC so i guess you just gotta take your pros and cons for both systems.

                      360 seems
                      slightly better graphics
dlc is coming to it also

                      ps3 seem
                      joker
                      dlc on it also

I'll end it now, my point was, not everyone has high speed Internet who owns a PS3. They see the commercial or ad for the game, and they see "Play as the Joker only on PS3". They think, "sweet!". Get the game, pop it in, no Joker, have to download it. Can't because they don't have high speed. Bummed.

                          That was my point.

I never said they were night and day or anything. Just a slight bit better.

In terms of visual fidelity, Batman: Arkham Asylum looks great. The island is that right creepy/cool mix, and the fact that Batman's face and suit takes damage as the story progresses drives home how bad this night has been. Still, there is some screen tearing during the opening movie, CGI stuff has a tendency to get some pixelization, and the in-game cutscenes have guards with bug-eyes and shoddy lip syncing. None of those are giant issues, but they're there and it can hurt the presentation to see Joker wiggling his head around while talking to Batman but clearly never be looking at Batman.

If you want to start a flame war, the graphics tend to be sharper on the Xbox 360 when compared to the PS3, which packs a 1.2 GB install that lasts for three minutes. Still, it's not enough to matter in terms of how great this game truly is so don't expect a score difference in terms of reviews. Of course, the PS3 also has the exclusive ability to take on challenges as the Joker, but I'm not including that in this review because the Joker stuff isn't on the game disc -- it's free DLC you get from the PlayStation Store.

                              Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum

I go to Digital Foundry at Eurogamer for the differences in multiplatform titles. I posted this earlier, it's based off the demo.

Our survey says that based on the technical performance of this demo, nobody is going to be disappointed with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Both games maintain 30FPS for the most part with minimal screen-tear, and in our representative sample of around 17,000 frames, a mere 1.7 per cent of them were torn on PS3 compared to 0.2 per cent on 360. Due to the dark nature of the game, and the fact that it doesn't deal in fast, colourful action, even those torn frames were rarely noticeable. If the level of complexity in the environments increases in the final game, it's fair to assume that the disparity might widen (especially bearing in mind the additional tearing seen in the more open environments in the demo, most evident on PS3), but until we get retail code, we can't put that to the test.

What is more apparent is that from a cursory inspection it's clear that the 360 has a marginal advantage in image quality, owing to the usual UE3 inclusion of 2xMSAA where there is none on the PS3. Again, the impact here is not so pronounced owing to the darker colour palette employed. Other than that, differences are minimal - a motion blur effect used sparingly when switching between scenes in the engine-driven cinematics is absent on PS3, and just like Wolverine there are differences in some of the lighting, most notably with the inclusion of SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) on 360 which helps adds depth to the scene. However, it has to be said that these effects are difficult to notice: the dark and the general gloom really is a great leveller.

Based on the quality of the demo, this looks like being a great game regardless of platform - be sure to download the sampler at your earliest convenience and give it a whirl. I'm really looking forward to the full release now, and additionally the PC version should be a treat too. This build benefits from hardware-accelerated PhysX support, and as UE3 is typically relatively light on both CPU and GPU, it should be enjoyable to gamers even with a relatively modest gaming rig.

I've played both demos, and I say the ps3 version STILL looks fantastic. The 360 one is "slightly" sharper, but if you've only played one or the other, and didn't have them side by side, you would never notice. I even went as far as too zoom in on several textures (walls, Batman, etc), and nothing is being lost in resolution in either version... at least as far as the naked eye can see.

The debate is almost silly at this point, as a majority of the developers have figure out how to make each version look all but equal.
