Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Just landed a 50 hit combo with the help of a titan if you don't know that that is keep playing you'll find out soon.
Was able to do it on hard and for the part I was playing it was needed without I would have died.
I Failed this fighting section at least 6 times before I finally landed that combo. Has to be one of the most frustrating fights in the game on any diff level especially on hard.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
The stealth sections aren't that hard but the fighting sections are much tougher because the enemies are stronger. Plus they can take more hits I know this is obvious but this is huge when you are taking on 2 Big enemies and 10 goons.
So unless you've got countering down and know how to chain attacks well I would say no. Its a good game on normal and you will have fun plus its not nearly as frustrating.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Yea I solved all the riddles, found all the trophies and the deciphered messages too.
If you are having trouble make sure you pick up all the riddler maps they speed up the process a lot.
I can also help too if you need it some of them are real tricky to find.Last edited by Jano; 08-26-2009, 12:26 AM.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Not sure if it was already mentioned in the thread but Toys R Us is giving a $20 gift card w/purchase of the game. Managed to get a $30 one for purchasing it before 2pm today. Have been playing for the past hour or so on Hard. I was dying a lot early on but getting the hang of countering. The combat system seems pretty simplistic but chaining takes some skill/timing. And the moves are just all types of awesome. The game is beautiful graphically, voice acting is near pitch perfect, production values through the roof; the developers did a fantastic job capturing the essence of playing as Batman. You're badazz but somewhat vulnerable at the same time. Excellent gameHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Was there any point to...
Spoilerthe room you can get to after Harley tries to drop the elevator on Batman and the cop? It has mushrooms, looks like it's inside a tree and has chalkboards with plans and stuff. You go through the broke elevator parts instead of grappling up. There wasn't anything useful in there?Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I've had it since Friday and I've been on summer break so I got a lot of free time lol. I just started my classes yesterday.
The game was so much fun I couldn't really put it down. I have beat it on hard and normal too. Now I'm working on easy just for fun.
Only played a little bit of challenge mode so I have 85% of the game complete.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Surprisingly, it reminds me a lot of the Metroid Prime games. The Detective Visor is like the scan visor Samus had. And the way you level up and return to previously visited areas to get to things you couldn't get to your first time there.
And while the story progresses in a linear way and you cannot just fully roam around in the beginning, it really does begin to open up as you play and you can backtrack all you want and go off finding the hidden Riddler quests and bonuses.
I'm done playing for today. Just put in about 8 straight hours in this baby, stopping only to eat dinner. So far I freakin' love this game and it is my front runner for GOTY so far. I anticipate only Modern Warfare 2 stealing its thunder later this year.
Mad props to Rocksteady Studios. They delivered the Batman game we've all been waiting for.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Yeah now I'm trying to stop playing I don't want to burn myself out on it. That's why I'm holding off on the challenge rooms for now lol.
This game is definitely a GOTY candidate this one really sucked me in. The last game to do that was GTAIV and even that one didn't pull me in like this one now that's saying something to me.
Rocksteady did an excellent job with this one I hope they create another one.Last edited by Jano; 08-26-2009, 12:47 AM.Comment
