Gamestop question

A month or so ago my Xbox stopped recognizing discs that I put in. I tried everything and nothing worked. So, I went out and bought a new one and while I was in the store I told the guy behind the counter about the broken one. He told me I can come in and exchange the broken Xbox for store credit. Well, I was going to wait until this week to exchange it since there are a few games that are coming out this week that I want. Well, I called Gamestop a couple of days ago and asked them again and they said I couldn't return it if it was broken. Now I'm not sure what to do. I remember the kid behind the counter told me to tell them it wasn't broken but I don't want to bring an Xbox to the mall if theres a possibility they wont take it back.

They will test it, so if it doesn't read discs, you are basically out of luck. You can try to get it fixed.

I asked the guy if they wold test it and he said no. I know that funco land tests it, but he said they wouldn't. Thats another thing. I don't want to get caught lying to the Gamestop police.

Trust me "they will test it". Unless you are dealing with an employee who either wants to get fired.
