Rainbow Six: Vega's 2 or Call of Duty 4

I just got my Xbox and I am dying for a online shooter. Which one do you feel would be the best choice? Also, is there a good third person shooter comparable to Socom?

Without question, COD 4.

As for 3rd person shooters, none that I know of that are similar to SOCOM.

One 3rd person shooter I would recommend though would be Gears of War. Great game with great graphics and a great engine. But if you want to, you could just wait til next month when Gears of War 2 drops.

For online? COD4.

I like R6V:2 as a better overall game, though. But if you're looking to play online, you'll always be able to find a bunch of games for COD4.

COD 4 has the better multiplayer system. Although, it does have a downloadable pack for $$$.

I'd throw Battlefield Bad Company in the mix too, especially if you like vehicles and sniping, no vehicles and sniping is tough on smaller maps on COD4 It's first person though.

I'm an old Socom player too and unfortunately no decent 3rd person games like it yet outside of GOW. If you like Socom no doubt you will like Bad Company and COD4 can't go wrong.

Only thing missing is the great Socom clan system unfortunately...

COD4 hands down, nothing can compare to it, Im still currently play this, but not right now since I got NBA 2K9.

COD4 is easily the best, especially in terms of multiplayer action online.

COD4.. because my cousin is the Marine Snipers face scan. He works with IW.

Plus you can always find a server full of players. Its very addictive. It's the most I've played online since Americas Army first came out for PC.

Single Player- Rainbow Six
Multiplayer- COD 4

If you want realism, i would Say Rainbow Six does a better job but the Atmosphere in COD 4 reminded me of Iraq, Especially the Night time operations.

This order

1) COD 4 - Hardcore mode Search and Destroy FTW
2) Bad Company - Best sounds in any FPS
3) R6V2 - Good single player, and best upgrade type system

3rd Person
GTA-IV Online, matchs like Teamdeath match and such are a blast. Nothing like getting 4 buddies in a car bumping tunes cruising down the road, running over baddies and everyone laughing their butts off whole time online.

If you add in Brothers in Arms and Ghost Recon 2 how do these games compare?
Right now I'm leaning towards RB62 or EAs latest shooter.
