Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Coming to XBLA, PSN?

According to a new listing on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board's website (via NeoGAF), it appears Capcom's classic crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is heading to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, more than likely as a digital download over Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

As usual, the mere appearance of a rating doesn't technically constitute as an official confirmation, but there's a bit more evidence backing this up. A couple of NeoGAF posters also relayed images of what sure seems to be Marvel vs. Capcom 2 listed on PartnerNet, Microsoft's closed version of Xbox Live used by developers to test unreleased games online. Not only does this seem to further confirm the existence of MvC2 for the 360 and PS3, but even better, it suggests it will indeed have online play.

But it does leave one to wonder -- if the game is already being tested online, and if it already has an ESRB rating, why wasn't this announced at Tokyo Game Show last week? Regardless, if (when?) we get an official confirmation, we'll let you know. Keep your fingers crossed.

I still have it on Dreamcast, I'm good....

Same with Soul Calibur, waste of Microsoft points....but none the less this is great news for classic game lovers.

Now if they enhance it to HD, then I might purchase anyways.

If it's on xbox live this will be one of the greatest moments in videogame history, if not it means nothing. Can I get Shenmue 3 while we're at it?

If capcom's network is as bad as usual with their fighting games then I'll wait until they get it fixed. Also keeping the game under $10 will help.

This is the single most waited for game for me. I have been attempting to get a PS2 version since my DC crapped out a few months ago. My favorite game of all time, and I'm not a big fighting game fan.

When this game hits, there will be beatings to go around. Online play is a must, but the parties I shall have with friends based on this game alone will be epic.

BTW, If this thread ever falls below the first page before this game releases, I am banning the entire user base.

In the summer me and my buddies spent some money on eBay getting Marvel VS Capcom 1 and 2 to play on the PS3. Good times.
