I don't know if there is a big difference but I just got a new TV and I chose to get Acoustic Research Component Cables and S-Video Cables from Best buy. Monster cables are too friggin expensive. It sick. If someone can tell me they really really make a difference I man consider buying one.

I can tell ABSOLUTLEY NO difference on my 50' HDTV when I use my $49.99 Monster cables and my $9.99 S-Video cable.

I've explored most all setting options there is. Unless I'm missing something here,
S-Video Cables + Down Payment on a Game = Monster Cables

I have an HDTV, and the S-Video looks great to me. Only cost 10 dollars. I'd stick with that.

I bought a $20 S-Video Cable for my TV and a $10 S-video cable for the DVD player. It really ain't gonna make that much of a difference with an HDTV unless you have the HDTV Tuner.

HDTV tuner is only for broadcast. It is not related to the DVD Player or other digital inputs.

Unless you were going to put your xbox in a suv I wouldn't use monster wires because of cost. Monster wires are expensive because of the name and how good they protect the actual wire. If you were going to build a sound system in your car, yeah use monster wires because of constant weather changes a car endures and monster cables are one of the most durable wires out there. But in your own house your wires stay put in a the same room tempuratue and never get moved. Just as long as you get S-Video wires with gold plated ends (gold is a better conductor) you'll be fine. But If you want the best you gotta go Component Wire.

If you have surround sound, definitley get an optical wire, it defnitley makes a different in sound. I have one of those RCA XBox ready TV's (gotta love having a friend working at bestbuy) and i use the component connector and hooked a optical wire from the xbox to my surround sound. Huge difference from what i had b4.

I suggest if you can afford it and have time to return stuff, just buy different cables , test them out and see what is the best deal for you.
