I need a game with a great storyline

I need a game for my XBOX 360 that will keep me occupied for about 2 months with a great storyline. I don't like Grand Theft Auto games or War games. A fighting, racing, or Action game would be my preference. It could be old or new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First game that came to mind was Fable 2, but I'm not sure it would take you 2 months to play. I actually just played Fable 1 on 360 and it took me about 12 game hours to play, but I didn't do much of the side quests. If you wanted, you could get both Fable 1 and Fable 2 and if you do a lot of the side quests and all that, I'm sure it would keep you busy for quite some time.

If you pace yourself, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion could EASILY get you 2 months of gameplay. I typically don't like games like that (RPG) but I really got into that one.

Mass Effect is a great game, and with all the side missions, it could possibly take you two months. Oblivion also would be a great choice; that will give you quite a few months of gameplay.

Lost Odyssey maybe. I didn't get that far into it but it was pretty cool from what I played.

Dreamfall for the original Xbox has a really great story and you'd have to play The Longest Journey on PC first but that's not gonna last 2 months.

I think I put 60+ hours in to Oblivion. Good game.

I did, but for some reason it didn't process that Grand Theft Auto means GTA.

2 months and a great story out of a fighting, racing, or action game? Let me know when you find that one.

Re: I need a game with a great storyline

You're not going to find a game with a story that lasts 2 months.

You'll find games that are large enough that you can spend 2 months and still have stuff to do, but the story is either going to be long over, or it's going to sit neglected over in the corner waiting for you to pick it up.

For games that will last a long, long time - I would say Morrowind (but it's an older game). Some people mentioned Oblivion which would work too, but I find Morrowind to be far, far better.

Fallout 3 has a really short main story, but it does have a lot of side quests. I just found that after 10 hours of play, the game got boring. It's the same thing over and over again.

Fable 2 I can't see lasting nearly that long. It's not really a very open game, and if you tried to extend it to two months, I would just see you doing boring jobs over and over making money to buy stuff, and just running in and out of zones killing all the bandits over and over again.

I'd say try an Elder Scrolls game (preferably Morrowind), those should last a long time. But, again, the story isn't going to last 2 months. What you're asking for doesn't exist.

I agree- 2 months out of a racing game??? Only ones that would come to mind is SSX or Jet Moto.

                            1. Fallout 3
                            2. Fable 2- new additional content on the way , suppose to be announced next week
                            3. GTA IV- i know lots of people hate this game, but it is a solid game, with a memorable storyline. New additional content will be released in FEB 2009.
                            4. Tales of Vesperia- great anime RPG
                            5. Mass Effect- it is long, but overrated and bland
                            6. BioShock- wonderful game
                            7. Fable 2- solid title but not as deep as one would hope
