    Secret Service

Secret Service takes place on Inauguration Day in Washington D.C. An extremist assault has been launched against the capitol - security has been compromised and it is unclear who is friend or foe. There is no time for negotiation as you are thrust out of the shadows and into the line of fire in order to protect the nation’s leaders. The action takes place among famous landmarks and everywhere in between, including both Marine One and Air Force One.

A tactical first person action game full of plot twists and revelations, Secret Service features story and level design contributions by Daniel Arey, who previously worked on Uncharted, the Jak series and the Crash Bandicoot series.

I got this from Gamefly yesterday and I already put about 4 hours into it. For all of you who are into the whole spy/espionage type genre or just like shooters in general, this is a very enjoyable title. The story is interesting and the level design is very nice. The only thing that gets kind of repetitive is hearing enemy after enemy say "let the American blood rot in the street" or another one of their one liners. Other than that I can't say that I have any complaints so far. I know most of you only check out the blockbuster games, but this is a budget title worth a rent if you get the chance.

Sounds cool. Any screenshots? Escort missions? Weapons?

I wondered about this game, if it was going to be any good, or just another generic splinter cell knockoff. Thanks for the impression.

I'll be adding this to my Gamefly queue. Thanks for the heads up!

Actually, when protecting the President there are always agents with assault rifles in "F.A.G bags' (Fast Action Gun bags)...so it's not really fake, we just don't normally see that type of stuff since no actual incidents usually happen. They also throw snipers all around, undercover agents, etc...The amount of everything depends on the event.

Yeah, I know way too much about random crap lol

if this is made by activision are we to assume it is made from the cod engine? the graphics actually look pretty good from the screens i have been able to find online. may have to at least give this thing a rental...

Complex: thanks for posting the video.

I really like fps', but they all have a common problem imo. Even cod4 - the depth perception is always so odd to me. I wish it was more like looking with your eyes, but it's like looking through a camera lense in every way - your hands look so small even though they are close to you, enemies look very small.

If you see in that video (or any fps video) when an enemy is 10 feet away from you, they look too small. If someone was standing 10 feet from you they would look much bigger, even when shrinking your visual experience down to a tv screen. Instead almost all games have the 'camera lense' effect where if you were looking at someone 10feet away, they would look much smaller, that's why most people are suprised they have to zoom in when taking a picture.

I don't have a solution, but I hope one company exaggerates slightly in the way I'm talking about or cheats slightly to make the visual field look more like eyesight depth perception.
Farcry is pretty bad in this way

I think the problem is that you can see too much of a space in close distances (possibly to reconsile the lack of peripheral sight) But I don't think it works.

The easiest way to notice what I'm talking about is when you're in a tiny room like a small washroom within a game, and look how much you can see compared to if you were really in a room like that and looking in one direction ignoring your peripheral vision - I've played so many games where you can go in a bathroom, look into a mirror while you're pressed right up against the sink, and you look like you're standing way too far away when it's really about 2 feet. You're reflection in this case should look very large.

Not sure if anyone agrees with me, but hope I explained it well enough so that you dudes know what I'm talking about.

The game looks decent btw, I thought it would be a laughable budget title.

I beat it last night and enjoyed it all the way through. I'm not sure why there is so little info on the game, but I'd give it a 8/10. It definitely exceeded my expectations.

                        Too bad it's a FPS. I would've given this a shot if it wasn't.

This game has almost zero press on it, wow. Looks decent enough for a shooter, nothing spectacular, but still looks fun.

I have it on my gamefly list, along with almost every game out recently. I'm a level 3 member with the 2 game plan, yet they still haven't even shipped out anything in like a week. I even bought one of the games I had, so they have no reason to be so damn slow.

Some of the mechanics remind me of RB but looks much worse.

Looks good enough to rent though.

I may GF it sometime, but i'd rather wait for some in depth review type stuff...too many other games to rent anyways, but this is at least on my radar now.
