I was thinking about picking up the first Uncharted since I've heard so many good things about it. Would you recommend doing so before picking up U2? Just wondering if I'd miss out on things in U2 if one hasn't gone through Uncharted first.

I feel like you should give it a slight run through, if not play the game in its entirety. This is one of those franchised video games where I actually care about the story almost like it's a movie, and a sequel based on the original is only a continuance of that story, meaning you'll be missing out on what would seem to be emotionally relevant information (in terms of understanding the characters, their foes, fears and wonders, interactions with allies, intertwining connective symbolism, etc.). Plus, it will just make everything in Uncharted 2 look that much better, and you'll see what it truly means for a development team to maximize a BD's storage capacity.

Besides, the game is just that damn good. Not only that, you can collect some trophies all the meanwhile.

i've been trying to pick up a copy of the first one too, but i'm such a cheap bastard I don't want to pay more than $20-$25. I've seen some ridiculous prices too, 26.99 used at gamestop, when it's 29.99 new? give me a break.

Yeah no doubt. That's part of the reason I figured the game was pretty special being that the prices were still relatively high for an older game, especially one that had a sequel due out in less than two weeks!

sounds like most non-sports games to me.

Sadly, you're right. It's why I hardly play anything but sports games these days.

I'm hoping Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption and Alpha Protocol will change that.

Try half.com, that's where I bought my copy a couple of months ago, total came to about $25 including shipping.

I just can't get over how good this demo is. Once you start really becoming skilled it is a real joy to play. The party system is outstanding, me and this one dude were wrecking fools tonight. I will post a picture later but I had a real "wow" moment. This guy was jumping off a balcony to melee me and I was able to head shot him in mid-air with my AK. ****ing awesome.

Hopefully I can find the time over the weekend to DL the demo & get some time in with it. I just bought the first one a couple of weeks ago when BB had the buy 1 PS3 game, get another half off deal. I think I'm either on scene 9 or 10, but I'm loving it so far. Can't wait for 2 to drop.

I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by how fun the multiplayer is. It seems like too much value for only $60. Sony should charge $70 and give the extra $10 directly to the folks at Naughty Dog because they obviously are worth it.
