It does get better after the jungle but I totally understand what you're saying.
I really like the game and thinks it's a must play/own but do not agree with some that think it's a GOTY candidate. One of the top games, absolutely. Best we'll play this year? Not IMO.

Yah, which is fine I think. Everyone is going to have differing opinions, and I think MW2 (for other people) will give this game a serious run for its money as far as GOTY is concerned.

For me, this is EASILY the greatest game I've ever played. But I see no problem with other people not thinking so. We all have different tastes.

What's nice though, is with a game like this, at least people can discuss it in a more mature manner... it's a nice breath of fresh air after visiting a couple of the other forums, lol.

Agree. I have no issues with anyone who thinks it's GOTY material because like you said, each person has their own tastes.
I love the game though! I'm trying not to beat it too fast so I keep switching up games. I never did rebuy 1 but I think I will so I can get all treasures there too
I am a single player first then occasional online. I get turned off a lot with online when the game has upgrades etc.. I just don't get online enough to keep up. By the time I get online I am fighting guys with nuclear missiles while I'm shooting a daisey BB guns... lol

At least it feels that way...

I am with you guys. This is by far the best game I have played this year, but with what's around the corner (MW2 and Mass Effect 2 for starters) I can't give it the GOTY yet. Everyone has different tastes, as well as your own taste changing from month to month and year to year.

The scope and magnitude of this game is better than Uncharted though and like others have said it picks up after the jungles. I am still in awe of some of the set pieces they have in the game. This is the first time on the PS3 where I just said that's *censored* amazing. Maybe even since God of War.

Personally I will take a good short story over a long drawn out game with not much depth. 10 hours is a good time to tell this story and this game really plays out like a good fiction book. For an action game, this is as good as they come.

the afterthought of beating the game

so its day 1 of beating the game and i feel very sad like feel empty that something is finished that i enjoyed so much

this game was very intense i loved every second of it ill probably beat it again on hard later on

i hope it does well in sales cuz in japan on day 1 it sold 47k copies according to vgchartz.

drake is my new favorite charactor with his funny one liners damn what a game.

I haven't been able to sit through and finish the single player campaign of a game in one day until I bought this game. I don't thik I will put many more hours into it now that I have beat it, but I will sat it is the best single player campaign that I've ever played.

I am also glad I avoided reading any media coverage on the game so I could avoid any spoilers. I don't think MW2 will be as good of a single player experience but I will put a lot more hours into that game because of the multiplayer.

While you don't have to have played the game there are some things that will make more sense if you had played the previous game. In any case the first one should be played anyways

The stories are independent from each other, so you won't be lost, but I would recommend watching the cutscenes from the first game. The games have such fantastic characterization that you may miss out on some dramatic tension, as well as subtle nuances of Drake and others in the Uncharted 2.

Just completed the game on normal 9 hours 2 minutes, found 15 treasures. Amazing game.

Some interesting stats:

Time spent in cover: 1:31:59
Time spent climbing: 39:13
Most enemies killed in a row using stealth: 5
Shoulder switches while aiming: 0 (not quite sure what that is, anyone know?)
Most headshots in a row: 4
Hit Ratio: 49.58%
Total enemies defeated 995
Most enemies defeated in a streak without failing: 97
Checkpoints failed or restarted: 155 (I dropped a lot at one point when I was confused on what to do)

Click the left analog to switch shoulder aim. It's really useful and you should use it more often. Basically you can switch between the view of over your right or left shoulder. You get different angles. You might not see a guy with a normal view but you know he's around the corner. You can click the left analog and you can see him easily.

I absolutely cannot stand the MP in this game. The teams it creates are so uneven, and it takes an entire clip to kill someone. Thank heavens COD is coming out soon to fulfill my MP gaming.
