Uncharted 2 is better than the first one. But to me it's more of an evolution than the revolution it's being billed as. Other than the graphics and animations - which were great in the first one. In Uncharted 2 they're in the discussion for best-looking next gen game. The environments are insanely detailed, lots of color saturation. The voice acting/characters are extremely well-done, although they come off as a little too cocksure at times.
Gameplay doesn't feel all that different though. I'm playing on Hard. The enemies still take shots like the first one to me, it's just that instead of pirates there are guards with flak jackets or body armor of some sort. Being able to throw propane tanks is nice; I haven't gotten the hang of the new grenade throwing mechanic for whatever reason. And I like how they do Drake's notepad, being able to flip through pages. They expanded a little more on the hand-to-hand combat but still can mostly button mash to knock guys out. The graphics on the rooftop/helicopter boss battle are fantastic.
But outside of the graphics it feels a lot like the first one. I even get more of a on-rails sense in this one for some reason. I'm only on level 6/7 so maybe there's more to it as I get further in. It's a really good game; just don't see how it's getting perfect 10 ratings from some sites
