There were a lot of people that liked UC2 better than UC1 but not everyone. I can think of myself and the Admiral as at least two guys in this thread that felt the first one was better.
how is a game like this not supposed to be scripted or linear? that makes absolutely no sense.

The game does need to be linear in order to progress through the story. But it goes too far and even takes control out of the user's hands at times. The opening sequence where you have to climb up the train that's falling off the cliff is almost entirely animation driven. You really just push up and then a cut scene happens, an animation takes over and you are fine. Also take a look at the boss scene on the train. The game decides it's going to be a fist fight. The guy is walking at you, you pump bullets into him and it does absolutely nothing. Control was taken away from you. And many times when you jumped from stairs or walked through something, a platform would collapse preventing you from going backwards. The game constantly pushed you forward and it bugged me at times when I felt I didn't have total control of the character or outcome.

I don't see how that's any different than any other game with "boss" fights. They all have certain ways that you have to kill them, and in U2, with this boss, it had to be via fist fight.

It doesn't really matter though, lol. I'd hate to see this thread turn into an argument over which great game is greater. They're both awesome, and Uncharted is one of my favorite games ever... I just like U2 a little better. Everyone is allowed their opinion though... there is definitely no reason for people to get defensive over it (not saying you are Rudy, you're just giving your thoughts).

Totally agree. It's pointless to argue over which game is better because it really doesn't matter. Everyone will have a different opinion and you will never have a consensus on anything in life. I did have a lot of fun with UC2. It's not like I was calling it crap or anything. I just preferred UC1.

              Re: Uncharted 2 (PS3)

Some games are more linear than others. That's just the way it is. When u have a great story and its told in a top notch way, it makes u forget about the linearity because through the whole experience ur chompin at the bits to see what happens next. Personally I can't justify spending countless hrs playing a single player game without an intriguing story. Mindless button mashing only stays fresh for me in the context of a multiplayer/competitive format. I guess what I'm saying is that without a good context mashing buttons on a joystick just isn't very amusing to me
              .
To me the story is so good that I might choose to play this game over watching an indiana jones movie. With a little tweaking The script could easly be a feature film.

Yeah for sure. I think these actors would do well in the roles.

                Chris Evans as Drake:

                Scarlett Johansson as Chloe:

                and

                Penelope Cruze as Elena

                Speilberg to direct of course.

Did you swap Chloe and Elena by accident, or is that how you want them to be portrayed?

Isn't Chloe the blond one and Elena the Spanish looking dark haired one?

I believe it's the other way around. But I would agree with those acting choices (assuming you reverse the roles).

                        I'd smash Penelope Cruz.

Edit: The other one isn't bad either.

Yah, like Blzer said, you just got the roles switched. I like the choices for all three though.
