    Half Life 2: Episode 2

Ok, so I know this is like a year late, but I finally beat Episode 2 earlier tonight. I also went through HL2 and episode 1 for the second time. What a great story this series has. I was pretty suprised by the ending for episode 2 to say the least. It seems like they've really set themselves up to make Episode 3 a great game, and hopefuly it will have a little closure as well.

Did anyone else finish episode 2? I looked around in the Orange Box thread and it seemed like everyone was just talking about portal and tf2. So what did you guys think of HL2, episode 1, and most of all, episode 2?

    I hated that stupid gnome.

but it will be interesting to see them blend in Aperture Science.

Episode 2 is amazing. Every moment in the game you can remember for a good reason, sans one. Plus the end is truly amazing. Too bad it may be 2010 before we get Ep. 3.

Either way Ep. 2 is an amazing game and I'm glad you got around to playing it.

2010 eh? Well that kinda sucks. I remember back before Ep. 1 came out valve was saying one of the reasons for doing episodic releases was to prevent a long development cycle. I guess that didn't pan out the way they wanted. Hopefully Ep. 3 will be longer than the first two. I would love a finale that was a at least 10 to 12 hours in length.

Yea, that was a good joke.

I remember that as well. This is my favourite all-time video game series. The only thing that has been a disappointment is the long development cycle.

I have my fingers crossed that episode three will answer all the questions from the previous Half-Life games and have a fitting conclusion. This is one series that screams out for the occasional long cut scene like Metal Gear IV just to explain some of the back story. I'm dying to know if the G-man turns out to be a good guy or bad guy or what his motivations are.

I can't remember the exact line but when the woman you're with whispers to you about "unexpected consequences" it was pretty dramatic for a video game.

It also has the best music ever of any game. When that techno music, or whatever it us, starts coming through your speakers, you know you're in for some heavy action.

This is the only series that I buy and immediately play from start to finish (after I hook up my PC to my big TV screen, crank up the resolution, kill the lights and turn into a video-game playing zombie).
