Anyone have this happen?

So i picked up a copy of Uncharted yesterday and downloaded the update and procceded to play. About 5 min into the game it would freeze this happened every time. I restarted over 5 times. So i took the game back and got another copy, same thing happened again. It's like my ps3 refuses to play this game. So i ended up getting Call of Duty instead, which is fine but i really wanted to play Uncharted. Any thoughts on why this happened? This is the only game that i've had problems with all my other games work fine and Call of Duty is problem free.

I had the same thing happen about a year ago with NHL 08. All of my other games worked fine for the next week or so, and then the Blu ray drive died on me. Hopefully you don't have the same problem that I did.

How long ago did it happen to you? Was it at the beginning too?

I have the 60 Gig model and it happened after just over a year of having the PS3 (I had to fight to get it repaired for free). After a year they charge you to fix it.

Did you look at the back of the discs? The game has been out for a year,I doubt they're in good shape.

I thought that it took a whole lot for Blu-Ray discs to become unreadable.

They were in pretty decent shape, both discs froze in the 1st level of the game.

blu-ray disk's do not get scratched up, there cover with scratch free coating. I have yet to see a single scratch on any blu-ray disk to date.

Well you can damage a BR but it will take a lot of work and pretty much has to be done intentionally.

However, once I left GTA in my car and it got kind of hot that day. Later when I tried to play, it would lock in the same spot.

That's what I thought. Then I rented Hellboy II after it had been out for 2 weeks,it froze up at the tree fight scene,tried it a few more times and the same thing,I looked at the disc and there was a big scratch on it. I was all like what the hell I thought these can't be scratched? I put it back in and skipped that scene and the rest of the movie worked.
