SUP!!!

Well just wondering what everyones favorite type of game might be. Sure this is a sports message board and I LOVE my sport games but I also tend to really dig into RTS's and FPS.

RTS - we have some solid contenders. Star Craft, Star Craft 2(09), World in Conflict, Warhammer DOW, Company of heros, Supreme Commander(all Chris Taylor works), C & & series like Red Alert 3, WarCraft. To name a few of the big names.

FPS - Wow most likly one of the most filled areas. Everything from the Rainbow 6 series, Ghost recon series, Metal of honor series, Call of duty series, Battle Field series, Fear series. To name a few

RPG - Well not a big RPG fan. But off the top of my head. Elder scrolls series, Chrono series, Zelda series, Finial Fantasy series, Mass Effect, a few.

MMO - Wow well considering I have never played a single MMO. I have zero clue on them. Wow series, Age of Conan, Warhammer online, blank stare :wink:

ACTION - Diablo series, Tomb Raider series, Ratch and Clank, Uncharted, Metal Gear series, Splinter Cell series, GTA series, Saints Row series, Etc. Many more

SPORTS - Really this can be divided into certain sports or we can lump this into two companys. EA vs 2K. But considering I like certain games from certain companies, I suggest just labeling the games. For instance I love 2k Basketball but love NHL 09.

OTHER - Anything that does not fit into the areas of the others. Music games such as Rock band. Plus one of my other favorites on XBL - WORMS!!!!!

So lets talk games. What do you really enjoy and where do wanna see it go.

I'm troubled at where to put a game like Fallout 3 in this list...It's basically action RPG and if forced to pick one type of game I'd pick a Fallout3/Oblivion type game. You get amazing gameplay depth and length of experience. Obviously I like all types and enjoy variety, but this is my type of game if I had a gun to my head.

For me I am an action game junkie with a good pacing, platforming, and shooting. Example I loved both Gears of War 1, 2 and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Though sports games are pretty much year round for me. In my opinion the sports I enjoy the most have been slacking a little in the gameplay department (football/boxing).

Yea blue I feel the same way. I LOVE fallout 3. You just get so much for your money.

I voted for FPS's since it is what I play the most. Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty World at war, SOCOM, Battlefield Bad Company.

But I, like many of us I am sure play many different types of games across many genres.

At the current moment this is my current play list. From most time on to lower.

Left 4 Dead
SOCOM
Red Alert 3
Fallout 3

Very tough choice between FPS and sports, but I went with FPS.

FPS for me. I play damn near every FPS that comes out because I just can't get enough of shooting things. Best online games when you add in TF2, L4D, Quake 3, and Battlefield 2 (my biggies). Love me some Crysis, CoD4, and Counterstrike.

RTS would be second. Can't wait for this years gems.

I'm with you there. Team Fortress Classic, Counterstrike and Q3 Arena took over my life the summer before I went to college. I was staying up til 5 and 6 in the morning fragging the **** out of people. Good times.

FPS will always be my top game type but here's what I usually go for.

1. FPS
2. Sports
3. RTS
4. MMO

I'm with you there. Team Fortress Classic, Counterstrike and Q3 Arena took over my life the summer before I went to college. I was staying up til 5 and 6 in the morning fragging the **** out of people. Good times.

The memories. TFC will always be my favorite game ever. Back when it was released it was my favorite "thing" ever.

Over the past couple of years, my favorite games have run across all genres. GTA San Andreas, Oblvion, Mass Effect, NBA 2k9, Rock Band and others have all topped my number one list at one point or another. I don't play MMOs or strategy games, but pretty much anything else can be my favorite if it's excellent.

Tough to choose since I like playing a lot of different kinds of games. Only game type I haven't gotten into are MMO's (mostly because of monthly fees).
I chose sports since lately I've been enjoying playing sports games with my kids.

When I sit down and think of it, it's kind of interesting how my interests seem to rotate through the years!

Sports games (Tecmo Bowl, RBI baseball, EA NHL) through the NES and Super NES generations dominated the majority of my youth. Once Goldeneye and Rainbow 6 came out I became a FPS junkie for a while(college/dorm life had a lot to do with this). Shortly after when I bought my first decent PC, RTS games (Starcraft, Warcraft, Age of Empire games, etc) took over most of my gaming time. Then once the PS2 dropped I was back to being hooked on sports games (NHL2k, NFL2k, MLB). Finally, ever since I got online with my 360 i've cycled back to being a FPS junkie (Halo, COD).

So while I still play many types of games, FPS are currently dominating most of my gaming time. However, if history is any indicator it looks like i'm due to get back into RTS games! Starcraft 2???

Same thing with me. I started out in the wolf 3d and doom on a old PC. Then on the NES I was playing RBI baseball, tecmo bowl, Double dribble, RC PRO AM. Then came along better PC's and better games like warcraft and star craft.

I was not a big ps2, I chose the regular xbox. But I have come full circle. I am back mainly with a gaming PC and also all the consoles (except wii)
