Re: Mass Effect 2
going off of what mgoblue said, once you use the mass relay to see all the systems, you'll see tabs pointing to specific systems where under the name of the system it will say something like "Recruit Jack", "Recruit Archangel" etc. Once you go to that system, you'll control the Normandy and there will be a bunch of planets. The planet your mission is on will have teal text on it, usually saying something like "Recruit Jack", for example. All of the main storyline missions will be labeled for you in this manner. So you take your ship, move it over the planet and press A to enter the planet's orbit. From there you can scan the planet for materials or land on it to start the mission.
I know it seems confusing now, I was in the same boat when I first started playing through the original. Once you get a few missions under your belt it will all become much more familiar to you.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Is it worth scanning all the planets? I've got everything done (gotta do the IFF next, no other quests/loyalty things)...how many side missions are there? Not really sure I feel in the mood to fully scan every planet either lol...i've got most upgrades by now and don't think I need more minerals (unless the Omega area has craploads of upgrades I don't know about).
I'll count the side missions...19 N7,9 Illium,6 Omega,3 Citadel,3 Tuchanka and 3 for the Normandy.
I'm gonna wait for Kasumi/next DLC before doing my Infiltrator playthrough. Might as well mess around with the Engineer and check out an ending idea I have.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Also...
Spoiler
I upgraded my heavy weapon ammo capacity to the point where I had enough to fire two shots of the M-920 Cain. Unfortunately, right when I got to the final level, I only had 190 ammo, just 10 short, and there were no power cells I could find throughout the whole level. I fired off one shot at him and it hit him for about half or 3/4 of his life. If I just had that extra ammo, I could've killed him in two shots.

Re: Mass Effect 2
There was heavy weapon ammo during that level right before the end.
And...for those who have finished the IFF quest...
SpoilerWhen I get to it, what should I take for the infiltrator? I was thinking AR, I was happy with it for my vanguard, but it sounds like the Widow is an amazing sniper rifle. But even then, I think the more variety, the better, at least that is what it has seemed. And also being able to use the Geth Rifle would be awesome.
And wow...I was looking at the reviews from the bioware site since it was linked...and then I went to GI and saw a 7.5 review from this user...
I don't see how anyone could rate this game below a 9. He sounds like he is a total noob who doesn't understand what to do. How could you scan planets for hours????Last edited by AnArtofWar; 02-03-2010, 08:18 PM.Comment

I know this is a noob question, but how do you post spoiler tags? Finished the game and want to see if anyone else got the same ending as me.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Yea that's why I wanted to be an infiltrator, but cloak is the only reason I would.
Well now I donno what to do again, I fickle a lot in this game...so many decisions. Right now I am going through with my adept...but the cloak is just so good, I am sure it would have saved me numerous times through my vanguard career, and by being an adept I am just being a better vanguard if anything. I guess incinerate can be as good as shock wave...donno..
Well it sounds like the adept is useless at high levels, so infiltrator it is
facepalm for me
And as far as Grunt, I'm not sure he ever died on me during my first run.
EDIT: NVM, I see now after a quick look at GameFAQs. Nothing like min/maxers to make you see the light lol.Last edited by Cyros; 02-03-2010, 09:46 PM.Comment

In other words, make the "r" and the "]" touch and put your spoiler where the word "and" isComment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Nevermind. Chubby's explanation was better. On the other hand, I'm enjoying this game. Beat it in 20 hours on Normal, now going through again with my same character trying to get to 30 and taking as much time as possible. Scanning all the planets doing all the side quests. After all this has to keep me busing till The Show comes out.Last edited by TeixeiraFanatic; 02-03-2010, 09:57 PM.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals

Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerSo I managed to beat it in 52 hours while doing everything in the game. Zaeed and Jack ended up dying on me in the last mission, however both were the only two who weren't loyal to me so I suppose its no coincidence. How did you guys manage to get Zaeeds loyalty during his mission? I opted to save the civilians on his loyalty mission and his nemesis got away. I suppose people who got his loyalty went after his target instead? I went 4/5th paragon and 1/5th renegade roughly so I wasn't able to diffuse the situation between Miranda and Jack. Did anyone decide to keep the collector station intact? I'm pretty curious on what happens during that scenario since I'm sure it changes the final outcome of ME2 and possibly the next ME3 game. I'm not really disapointed in the outcome of my game since I pretty much disliked both jack and Zaeed. I try to play the game as if I were Shepard so whatever happens, happens.Comment
