Im with you on this. This is one of the story lines that I was the most interested in since ME. I was hoping for a long fleshed out story arc with the shadow broker. I am all over the DLC though.

The PS3 announcement is pretty crazy. I wonder if all the DLC will be on that release.

Side note: I am enjoying the second play through a lot more with the scanner update.

Although I guess Ashley would be pretty hard to have in your party if...

you killed her in the first game. I have two stories going. One where I'm a vanguard and hooked up with Liara (planning on staying with her) while killing Ashley. Another where I'm a soldier that killed Kaiden and hooked up with Ashley, but ditched her for Miranda after Ashley was a bitch).

I wonder if they have something where they outline the entire story and allow you to make choices along the way. Won't compare to actually playing the entire first game but it will be better then nothing.

To me it makes no sense for them to give PS3 owners Mass Effect 2 but not let them experience the first game. Stupid move on EA's part.

Anyways, prepare to have your lives consumed for about 30-40 hours PlayStation owners. This game will own you.

Mass Effect 1 not coming to PS3 probably has nothing to do with EA. Even with them now owning publishing rights, there's probably some red tape with Microsoft having published the first game.

It does suck that PS3 owners won't get to play first game. I was hoping for both and DLC, and maybe fix some technical issues that plagued the first game, because I would have double dipped if that were the case. I'm sure there will be a story primer, and if not, you can read one online, or anything you would need to know is in the codex, especially considering Mass Effect 2 is primarily a character diven story.

the PS3 port will feature some form of an "introduction experience that provides the backstory and the things that have happened" in the first game (which is not available on PS3).

"It'll be something that provides a good introduction and provides a lot of the backstory and introduces you well to the story-arc, and kind of makes you feel like you're part of it all. And then you can jump right into the action in Mass Effect 2."

Muzyka also touched on the possibility of Mass Effect 3 launching simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

They need to give the opportunity to adjust those things. Forcing it that the Ambassador running the show and Council dead would suck. At least on the 360 you can change that by playing the first.

PS3 owners should be VERY happy. ME2 is probably the best game I have ever played, everything about has a AAA polish too it.

The Shadowbroker dlc is coming out on September 7th and it'll 800 points. I don't know if any of the blogs have the press release yet but there's screenshots on the Mass Effect 2 facebook page. There's 5 new achievements and you continue your relationship with Liara.

That might be the impetus i need to do my 2nd (3rd) Shepard playthrough since he had a Liara relationship in 1.
