Sage advice. But if you build up the Handiness skill, you actually CAN fix stuff yourself. I even had an Opportunity where I was asked to fix someone's TV for cash - and succeeded (without killing myself)!

But under normal circumstances yes, $50 > death by electrocution.

I really like the opportunities they added to the game, it really enhances the skills you can aim for and careers.

Good to know. My sim's lifetime aspiration (Gold Digger) is to be haunted by my rich deceased spouse. I've been trying to starve her to death but she just won't die. I'll have her go fix some broken electronic stuff next and see if that does the trick.

Can the spouse actually haunt you? I haven't really ever played a Sims, but that sounds interesting

LOL, yeah, I guess. They come back as ghosts. The sugar mama I married is a widow and her dead husband hangs out at our house at night while we're sleeping. I've actually played video games with him and trained him on the treadmill before (my Sim has the ability to be a personal trainer).

Lifetime goal achieved! I starved the old bag to death, lol. Now I'm a widower living in a huge house by myself. Time to invite the ladies!

I am sooo mad right now. I wanted to build my own house,so I started a new town. Thing is, i thought the saves worked the same way as on the Sims 2, they do not. Long Story short, I saved over my Game. I am soooo mad right, It really sucks.

I can't stress how awesome this game is. Just get use to the the edit towns screen and how saved games work and you'll be straight.

I put my girl onto this game and she's loving it. Theres just soo much to do and accomplish. unlimited replay value. Im gonna be designing my own mansion soon. wish me luck. lol

I'm in the process of making mine too. Not exactly a mansion though, just a large house. I'll post a picture when I'm done.

LOL that'd be awesome. C'mon Momentous, do it!

This game is pretty deep. It's awesome how you can become a novel writer and make money off your books. The bigger hit your book is, the more simoleons you get. Same with paintings, you can sell your paintings, and the bigger and more impressive your painting, the more simoleons you get.

The careers are amazing. It's almost like an RPG where you have side quests to do. For example, I heard with the journalism career, you have to go interview local sims as a job quest.

They've really added to this game.

Anyone running a HD 4850 with this game?

I turned everything up high but the trees don't render and are just thin 2D blocks when looking at the town.

Also got issues with hair. I assume it's a video care error. Just updated the driver too.
