MTV and Beatles license-holder Apple Corps announced Thursday (October 30) that the two groups will join forces to create the first-ever Beatles-themed video game set for release in the holiday season of 2009.

I know this is semi-old news, but I was surprised there wasn't already a thread on this. I, for one, cannot wait. This has the potential to go down as the greatest rhythm game of all time.

I might have to get this. I am not a huge Beatles fan, but I never really tried to get into their music. I do know quite a few songs of theirs though. I guess it depends on what they do with the game and what songs they have. As long as it's no more then a regular game. $60.

The first reports I have heard said there will be 45 Beatles songs included in the game spanning all of their studio albums. That's an average of around 4 songs per album, as they released 12 studio albums.

Im so happy its compatible with rock band instruments

I may have to buy one of the new guitars though, if it looks classy enough

Only 45 songs and no other artists,I probably won't buy it. Importing is questionable too. I love Helter Skelter,I am the Walrus and While My Guitar Gently Weeps but that's only 3/45.

As much as I love me some Rock Band, I don't enjoy The Beatles enough to justify getting this.

Just wanted to tell everyone that at the Game Zone/Movie Gallery where I work - we are now taking pre-orders for this game. It's a required 29.99 deposit for the bundle. I'll try and get a concrete release date when I go back in this weekend. It has become our biggest "must push" pre-sale item for the time being.

September 9 could be the official, but I'll double check.
