Why is codemasters determined to ruin OPFPs rep?
Why is codemaster determined to ruin Operation Flashpoints reputation I wonder? There is no way, that Dragon Rising can be done justice on a console, period. Anyone remember the first Flashpoint on PC....then you know exactly what I'm talking about.Tags: None -

probably the same as EA did with the Battlefield series. took a very good Battlefield series from PC, and made a very bad console game. they want the $$$.Comment

Re: Why is codemasters determined to ruin OPFPs rep?
Keeping the integrity of the game is all that Codemasters needs to do.
Keep it a "Sim" like they are aiming for.
Flying planes, driving cars, tanks, etc will actually be really easily done with the PS3/360 pads. And since this game series isn't about twitch reflexes and more about carefully placed shots and such, it'll be just fine on the Consoles.
What you need to hope is that Codemasters in house team doesn't gaff the heck out of the game and that it remains true to what Bohemia did with the original and recently ArmA (armed assault).BeyondMediaOnline.comComment

Also if I recall correctly, the original Flashpoint made an appearance on the Xbox. Not sure how that went since I didn't play it, but as long as they give us a PC version with all the bells and whistles I'll be happy.Comment

Basically what he said. But Bohemia is going to release the *real* Operation Flashpoint 2 on Xbox 360 as well so it can't be that bad.

I'm just rembering the vast mod community for the original Flashpoint. Any scenario, any weapon, any military faction, that you can name became playable in the original game. I know thats not going to happen on a console. Thats what flashpoint is to me, major options.Comment

It also featured the SAME mission maker. It was just a bit harder to work with since you didn't have the ease of the keyboard and mouse, but it was still VERY functional.
Yea, I'll probably end up getting the PC version as well. In response to an earlier reply, I dont think the integrity can really be kept on a console.

I see what you're getting at though... Not having access to the MOD community like you do with the PC version will suck, but that's different than the integrity of the game. They aren't going to turn Flashpoint on the 360/PS3 into a typical "takes 10 bullets to kill you" type of shooter.
You'll still have Mission Maps that you can create and share.
Maybe the PS3 version will allow for PC Mods, much like UT3 does.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment
