Re: Army of Two: The 40th Day

I don't what APF getting an 80 has to do with anything.

Of course they are. They are the only print gaming mag right now, and...again, partnered with a company that sells videogames. Where better to hype and debut your product?Comment

What does everyone think of this game? I didn't play the first but, I've seen some vids and it looks very GOW1&2 ish. Which it appears to be a good thing.

 What do you guys think?Moderator

Re: Army of Two: The 40th Day

It's good. It's weird that there's 7 levels but I'm half way through level 3 and got the acheivement for beating half the game on contractor. LOL

It should pop half way through level 4 I would believe unless the 7th level is short.

I can see the GOW comparison, but I enjoy this series more.Comment

I may have to go out and get this. It looks and feels so much different than the FPS games. This looks like it could be a lot of fun with 10 buddies paired in 2's.It's good. Did you play GOW? I thought the control was a little stiff at times but, this looks really fluid.

I'm just trying to get some impressions before I shell out $60.Moderator

Re: Army of Two: The 40th Day

It's good, it's not world changing or anything that people are probably going to remember 8 months from now.

I like it, it's fun, and it feels like you're in a big Michael Bay summer blockbuster.

I like the moral choices that play out as well, there are several times that you have to make a choice, those decisions affect your play later on.

Below are some of the moral choices spoiler, don't click unless you want them spoiled.

SpoilerExample, in the 4th mission you are helping out a doctor at a hospital, holding it off so he can evacuate patients. There's a weapon crate down there, but because of prior actions (I've been bad all along), the doctor wouldn't unlock it for me. You also meet up with a 12 year old boy, there's a spot where he can help you by grabbing a sniper rifle. Of course, me being the a-hole I have been in the game, I tell him to go for it. He gets shot and dies (a little much for a videogame, but works for some reason). If you are on the good path, you tell him to stay hiding.Comment

Awesome, seems like that gives me another reason to play through as well, especially with the campaign being a little shorter. It's good, it's not world changing or anything that people are probably going to remember 8 months from now.

Have you been playing solo the whole way? Everything's been ok with your AI teammate?Comment

Yes, I only have seen one other person on my friend's list even playing it, so all of it solo.

The AI is 100x better than the first game, seems to move on your commands better and just smarter.Comment

I never played the first one. Is this very similar to the Gears gameplay? It's good. It's weird that there's 7 levels but I'm half way through level 3 and got the acheivement for beating half the game on contractor. LOL

There is a PS3 demo. I never played the first one either. Reading around, this game is getting hammered by users due to bugs......is that true?Comment

I'm at the end of the 4th level, I've yet to see any bugs or glitches. Maybe I'm lucky, who knows. Game has flowed pretty well.Comment
