    Mortal Kombat VI Confirmed!

"As our neighbors across the street confirmed in PSM issue 71 (May 2003), recent conversations with Mortal Kombat father Ed Boon yielded concrete proof that his team is already hard at work on the next game in the series. The article continued to say that the game was tentatively titled Mortal Kombat VI, will be released in 2004, is being rebuilt from scratch, and could or could not include online play.

After speaking with our own Midway contacts late yesterday afternoon, IGN confirmed that online play isn't merely an idea, but a fact; and that it will definitely be incorporated into the next version of Kombat when it debuts near the end of 2004. Unfortunately the only other confirmation we could receive was that MK6 would appear on multiple platforms, and that it will be a good long while before any more information (or official press release for that matter) becomes available."

    COOL!!!

Did the last MK game sell that well to warrant a new title? I heard that MK: Deadly Alliance wasn't all that great. Eh well it sounds like they're re-doing the game from the ground up so maybe it'll revolutionize the genre like the first MK game did.

I think the last MK sold really well. This one better have more fatalities, level finishers, more hidden characters, etc. Sounds good.

Well they did say the game was going to be released at the end of 2004. That is quite some time away.

                        Nivek question for you.

If a game sells for $49.99 or say $74.99 CDN on avg. what percentage of that goes to the developer of the game? and what % goes to the seller. (EB for example.)

I think it sold well, but the series is beyond it's time....during it's glory years it thrived off "shock" value with the blood and fatalities...now this really isnt that shocking anymore and not to mention there are many far more superior fighting games out. I liked MKA for about a couple days but it's very shallow with only 1 fatality per character and no stage fatalities and only like 2 or 3 special moves per character...the different stances arent really a factor...when the weapons come out the game just gets plain unfair if someone has a long sword and the other guy has numbchucks.

For part 6 I really hope they make the game deeper and more fair........or else it'll be another rental for me.
