Re: Assassin's Creed 2
I just beat it and all I have to say is wow.
SpoilerThe ending was pretty amazing. I loved the major cliffhanger there. It reminded me a lot of MW2's ending. Before the credits start I love how Ezio is like "What...the...****?"MLB: St. Louis Cardinals

What is with the faces and facial expressions in the cut scenes, they look really weird. I could have swore they were better in the first game.My Teams

Re: Assassin's Creed 2
The difficulty is just right for me. I haven't been frustrated in the 10 or so hours I've put into it. And goh is right, the tombs and Templar lairs provide a nice fun platforming challenge that never gets too frustrating.
Honestly this is my game of the year so far. Arkham Asylum is a close second but this game is just stunning. I managed to enjoy the first Assassins Creed but this one just blows it out of the water. The amount of variety in there is fantastic and the simple thrills of free running and climbing to the highest point in a city are still magical.
The day to night cycle is also fantastic and I'm loving being able to customize Ezio through the tailor and blacksmith. The combat is still a little simplistic for me but the counter animations are still oh so rewarding. I love being able to disarm a foe and then turn their own weapon on them.
My only gripe is the Black Edition was really not worth it.
I expected a bonus DVD stacked with behind the scenes content, a soundtrack CD, an art book and a figurine. The art book is fantastic but the soundtrack is shoehorned onto the DVD and the bonus features are slim and feature horrible video quality. The figurine is ok but looks kind of cheap.
I recommend just going with the standard edition and downloading the behind the scenes stuff in HD from Xbox Live if your interested in that kind of thing.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed 2
Was a fan of the first one, so its no surprise that I'm enjoying the second iteration as well. I can't really pinpoint it, but I started playing the game at night, and its now morning; there's something about this series that makes it highly addictive (maybe its the way Ubisoft put their spin on the "sandbox" genre? Not sure.) I'm far from an achievement whore, but I spent hours doing nothing but finding treasures, viewpoints, and doing side missions. I'm in no rush to finish this game. The extra things are what makes this game good and the variety of things that you can do on the side, is what separates this one from the first one. If you're going to play nothing but the core storyline, I can see how it could lead you to believe that not much has changed from the first one, but if you take time to explore a bit, and see everything this game has to offer, then you can see how people come to the conclusion that it's much deeper than the first.
My one major gripe with this game is the camera. There's nothing worse than me over-pursuing a jump (because of the camera angle), and then falling to desynchronization. Other than that, I'm liking AC II a lot. Can't wait to get my change up, so I can buy new weapons...

Re: Assassin's Creed 2
I keep turning off the game and then going back to it 15 minutes later.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
