Re: Assassin's Creed 2
Spoiler
since the beginning when they mentioned the Bleeding Effect that they are setting up for Desmond to become an assassin in the "real-world" in a future game. Not sure if it will be the next game or not though. I could see them trying to do half past-life and half present day, but I don't think that would gel real well.

Re: Assassin's Creed 2
This game is just plain amazing. I know the first few hours I was not feeling it at all and just felt like the same old all over again. The more that I play, the more I get engrossed into this world. I am playing this game on the PS3 and it looks absolutely stunning. I can only imaging what this looks like on the 360 with the graphics bump on that version. The cityscapes are just insane and amazingly beautiful to look at.
I do feel like I am a part of the Renaissance period and this is one thing that this game does well, immersion. Even looking at the skies with the changes to day/night, the clouds in actual motion. I just sat there for a few moments staring at the skies. LOL!
My beefs with this game center around the controls.......they are still very clunky when trying to climb walls, especially in the Assassin's Tomb missions is where it is the worst. It was very frustrating in these spots where tight control precision was needed. The fighting also needs to be refined or a new system needs to be implemented for the third game. I still feel at times like we are stuck in animations that gets repetitive. Especially when you start firing the pistol, there is no control.
One problem I had at first is that this game goes from being dry to overwhelming. Once you get over that overwhelming factor, boy does this open up.
I have played a lot of great games this year, but this one, depending on how it ends could be my GOTY. Uncharted 2 was an amazing experience once you hit Chapter 16.......I see the same thing with Assassins Creed 2. Once you get a few hours in, the experience opens up to something grand.
Spoiler below has to do with where I want to see this game go in the future, nothing with the story since I haven't finished it yet.
SpoilerI love the Renaissance period.......but I would love for the next game to take place in the old Wild West. Imagine this engine further refined and being use to make a Western? Why not, since we are following Desmond's ancestor's which go all the way back to the Renaissance. Why not have an assassin in the old west. Then for the fourth game we can take Fresh's idea which would be cool.
For those that have completed this game, are you able to go back into the world and do things? Or is it like the first game where you couldn't go back if I remember correctly?Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed 2
This is well worth the purchase. I have no clue how much time I have invested in this game, but I have to be approaching 20+ hours. I am nearly done, but I have started going back and doing some of the side missions.Comment

December 1, 2009 - Hot off its impressive first week sales news, Ubisoft revealed today Assassin's Creed II is receiving two additional download pack add-ons starting in early 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The first DLC episode, Battle of Forli, is planned for release in January, while the second, Bonfire of the Vanities, hits a month later in February.
The downloadable content will fill out the missing memory blocks in Assassin's Creed II. The titles of the content are telling in themselves. The battle of Forli most likely deals with the town being seized by Cesare Borgia (The villain in ACII) in 1499. Control of the town had previously been claimed by Pope Sixtus IV and given to his nephew Gerolamo Riario. Riario's wife was the beautiful Caterina Sforza, who fans of the game might remember running into as Ezio tried to board a boat to Venice. It's possible that the plot aligns Ezio with Caterina as she fights for the town's independence.
The Bonfire of the Vanities is a more popular historical event where supporters of the church would congregate and burn possessions that were associated with vanity like mirrors or make-up. The game refers to one such event taking place in Florence during one of the missing memories. Historically, the confrontation resulted in Caterina being taken prisoner by Cesare Borgia and relocated to Rome.
Ubisoft didn't mention any pricing details just yet, however, they did drop an unusually large harddrive space requirement. Each DLC has a minimum 1GB of needed memory, meaning these episodes could be pretty lengthy.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed 2
That's awesome..I would buy the game then maybe...I didn't do any of the side missions either. I just wish they had a mission where you got to control an army in an open field...and also allow you to use Leonardo's flying machine regularly..without the limitations it has though :PComment
