I'm probably a little older than most guys here(mid 30s) and yep that is the one that welcomed me to the series. Back then it was an amazing game. It was the Splinter Cell of its day.
In 15 plus years someone will be saying the same thing about some of the games we play today.

See, I tend to think of this last as "which game would I rather play," not "which game did I like more at the time."
I like ESPN NFL 2K5 more than any football game before or after it, or any sports game for that matter. I love GTA IV more than any game... ever. So GTA III was a bigger jump and I appreciated the jump more, big deal. I like GTA IV more than GTA III regardless.
