Um, what about Ghost Recon 3? Or do all of a sudden they consider GRAW 1 and 2 to be 3. LOL

At least GTA had a 3, then Vice/SA, then made GTA 4.

Can't wait!

The two GRAW titles were fantastically fun online (never finished the campaigns) and I love the tactical shooter genre as a whole.

I'm excited.

Didn't play GRAW2 that much, but GRAW was one of my favorites to play online with OSers (I'll never forget my headshot of, TheGenecyst I think, 4 seconds after the match started on that...beach level).

I really hope they go back to a more modern setting instead of all of the high tech fancy equipments. Ghost Recon 1&2 were both great (were way ahead of their time) then they went ahead and created the mediocre GRAW.

Seriously, make a game and actually use Input from Tom Clancy like they used to! I am so mad that Ubisoft Pissed all over the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six series to create Arcade action games when GR and RS are supposed to be realistic shooters! Honestly, if you do not believe me, go play the Original Rainbow six, i bet you can find it for 99 Cents, it is a hardcore Sim FPS...

I remember reading shortly after GRAW 2 came out that Ubisoft said not only will the next Ghost Recon have a longer dev cycle, but it will also be dropping the Advanced Warfighter and be returning to the roots. I can't seem to find the article though.

However, this End War interview from last year suggests otherwise.

IGN AU: So you have a lot of shared assets and technology between the development teams, then.

Vinh-Dieu Lam: Yep, Scott Mitchell is in EndWar too, and the next Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter will probably have references to the back-story of EndWar – to the Shield Network and world oil problems.

I'm totally with you on this Johnny!!! Some of the best memories I have of playing FPS games were spent playing the original GRAW and GRAW 2 online with OS'ers

it will be the 4th "Series" of Ghost Recon.

there was Ghost recon, came out in 2001 on PC first. had an expansion packs called Desert Siege and Island Thunder. in 2002 came to PS2/Xbox/Gamecude.

then came Ghost Recon 2 in 2004 on xbox/PS2/gamecube. I believe it never came out for PC. at least I've never seen it. later came a Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike "stand-alone expansion pack".

then came Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) in 2006. later a "stand-alone expansion pack" that was called Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2(GRAW 2) :wink:

now Ghost Recon 4.

i may have forgotten 1 or 2 expansions in there somewhere, and I didn't count mobile or handheld versions.

next Rainbow might be called RB6 5. unless they count Lockdown separate from RB6 3, then the next would be RB6 6.

That's when nex gen came along then GRAW came on the scene.
