I think it's lame that the XBOX doesn't play these types of discs. Or am I recording with too high of a write speed?

Also it has DVD Playing capabilities, not a DVD player. That's what I used to tell the wife when I used to come home and she and her friends were watching movies on the PS2. 
I immejuly went out and bought another DVD player for the living room.

Yeah, and to be perfectly honest, if you have any sort of quality tv, you're not going to want to use the XBOX/PS2 for a DVD player. Get one with progressive scan output and all those other goodies that only a real DVD player can offer. I mean its good in a crunch or whatever, but I always play DVD's/CD's on my Panasonic 82s progressive scan DVD (PLUG! Awsome DVD player).Comment

The Samsung drive supposedly reads CD-Rs. This is the Xbox with the two smaller holes on each side of the disc tray.Comment
